The car is actually owned by my friend Spencer(shEck3ls0), but seeing as he has no camera and no time to be on here much, I'm starting it. The car was bought from Joe(ill4noreason) after it was rear ended about a week ago. Plans are basic maintenance, rally lights/ skid plate, harness etc to get this thing read for the first event in 4 weeks. I'll update when I get more pics or progress!





Car is stock aside from billy sports and a short shifter(note: H&R races still on the front at time of pics).

Got it in position..... I really wish I had a garage for this thing.



Started by taking the h&r races off the front. (they are up for sale btw, I have the whole set)

Suspension off.


Here is what i am working with engine wise.... Has upwards of 200k on it.
I plan on doing a top end tune up and possibly a new head gasket if I can find the time(considering I have 3 e30 projects right now).


Some rust I need to take care of on the hood. Yeah, the paint job and body work was half assed.


I also took the front bumper off and started to clean up some stuff. I couldn't get the rear bumper off probably because of the damage. More to come as I find more time to work on this.

So... None of the rust was fixed before painting...? This thing pulls for 200k+. And an m42.

Well... Wednesday's are practically my only free days to work on this thing. I tore the rear end apart and did some other things. Anyway, I am picking up some stuff this weekend including..... A set of bottlecaps with some snow tires on them with a 70 sidewall, which will leave me sitting high. Hope the soft sidewalls of them don't cause the tire to fall off the wheel. Also picking up a new trunk and rear panel to weld in there. I am excited for the first event, March 18th... I need to get working. Anyhow, here are some pictures of the rear end. I have no idea why they totaled this car. There is like no damage. (estimate was for $2500 though)





And I might make a cool sig out of this picture. Currently painting the grilles and rewiring the headlights for sealed beams since there was euro smilies in it before.


I plan on finishing up the exterior by next weekend. Then I will be moving on to cleaning up the interior and then freshening up the engine.

Nice build. I use 185/70/14 Hankook iPike snow tires on bottlecaps for RallyX. Gives enough clearance with the H&R sport springs.

You'll be fine with the soft sidewalls, the bead is pretty strong. Just don't run insanely low tire pressures (like 4x4 guys do when they go offroading) and you'll be fine.

If you need a set of sealed beams I have a set you can have. One of the high beams needs to be replaced but is otherwise good to go.
