    Dan's Delphin thread

It's about time I contribute back to this community since I have been assisted several times already. I've been a long term BMW guy and currently my car is a 1987 325is, 5spd with 141k original miles, SF bay area local car with immaculate service history from BMW dealerships. Picked her up earlier this year in Jan and thought I'd start sharing some of the things that I've done and in progress. The car was 100% stock until she fell into my hands.

These things have been done within the last 3 weeks:

    - Z3 1.9 SSK with z ZHP shift knob (very nice combo)
    - New leather shift boot
    - JVC stereo (sounds amazing with OEM premium sound)
    - Tranny/rear diff fluid flush/refill (all Redline)
    - GE keyless entry system
    - NGK spark plugs
    - K&N drop in filter
    - OEM distributor cap and rotor
    - Engine oil change w/new oil filter

These next items are on hand and just waiting to get installed:

    - Bosch fuel filter
    - Bremi spark plug wires
    - Valve cover gasket

    A few pics:

keep it up Dan. Delphin = sexy (my hood is Delphin, lol). If you're looking for some dirt-cheap ways to make it look a bit better, tuck the bumpers and paint them black. Makes a big difference in the front-end and rear-end look!

Yeah I've been researching a lot on the bumper tucking and would like to get to that eventually. But for now I'm focusing all my efforts on getting as much maintenance done and some small mods here and there. But the tuck is in the future.

Nice car! I'm local with a silver 91 318is. I wish I could make it to WekFest, but my buddy Toby(Dinan 330i vert, red interior) and Kalim(Red E46 sedan all OEM S54 swap) will both be showing. Say hello from Clem P for me if you see them!

Spark plug wires installed and done.

Next up, fuel filter and then.....

Full black interior conversion including full black carpets, door panels, rear speaker deck, rear speakers and fresh sport seats.

I took a ton of pics at each stage of this tedious process and will be posting them soon.

That's in the near future. Deciding on what/how to paint the chrome. Either same body color or just black plastidip... hhmmm...

This interior conversion took up much more of my time than initially anticipated as I only wanted to get newer sport seats, but I said to hell with it and just did the whole interior.

The interior is still gutted right now, waiting for the carpets to dry/sink in with the new paint. Will probably put in the panels this week and then the seats last, can't wait.

Damn that looks good. I know I have to get suspension, but your picture just made me bump the suspension mod up a few notches higher on my list.

Black interior conversion completed! SO WORTH IT!!!

This DIY took me somewhere between 40-45hours (spread out over 3 weeks) to complete as I did everything myself, used extra spray cans for extra coats, carefully letting everything dry, and even more carefully re-installing everything.

I will post up a full write up with pictures after I get cleaned up and upload my pictures.
