You think the 2.79 is too long with that much displacement and the e36 trans!? (You probably have a 2.79 unless you swapped in the 2.93.) If you go much shorter, it will just spin in the first few gears. Nice work and the car looks pretty clean!

I love the look of the car and the work on the motor is proper.

Try to find a 3.23 from a Z3M, it'll bolt right up if you swap the output flanges, and then you'll have a pretty diff cover to look at.

We installed the AKG offset rear subframe bushings/ diff bushing, delrin trailing arm bushings, braided brake lines and Hawk pads in preparation for my brothers track session tomorrow.

And we found out why the built S52 can top 70mph in second.... What we thought was a 2.93 diff turned out to be a 2.79LSD! Good call cryix2k!

eeewwwww, I need a damn haircut!!!!!!!!

Now for something completely different.........thanks go out to my brother Ryan (dirty30) and Ana for helping out to get the BMW ready for the Summit Point Trackdaze event. We were amazed to find the ID about the ratio of the diff! Now having a feel of the Summit Point main course, i know the list of the next items to be installed; race tires, cage, seats, harnesses, and install my slotted rotors/bed the pads in. I also went with all new braided and coated stainless brake hoses. Used ATE super blue for fluid and flushed it completely at work with a BG flush machine. With the Hawk HP pads front and rear along with the other stuff installed, the brakes are AMAZING!!! ZERO fade, little noisy but who the hell cares! Even when there cold, the pads heat up in no time and begin to grab HARD!!!!, like scary freaking crazy!!! BTW thanks go out to all who have been checking out my project. I am very happy with everything about the car and how it felt at track-speed. Put it to you like this: I had the 325eeeeee all the way to 130 mph on the straight after turn 10. Its a life changing event and I am now addicted to being on the track!

              heres some pictures:

Ladies and Gentlemen, i am no longer a virgin when it comes to driving on a race track!

Like to also thank DW Henry for the awesome pictures, he is a pro man! His website is dwhenry.com, check out his gallery on the site, incredible photogragher!

And if anybody has a 3.25 or 3.46 LSD that will fit my chassis, I have money and need either one asap! thanks in advance. So this week my service manager signed me up for 4 days of class in jessup, maryland and got to stay in a Holiday Inn Express. Pretty nice/freshly re-done room with LG flat screen/king size bed/marble countertops and all. Got a couple of cool pictures while on break at the Volkswagen Jessup Learning Center. The engine pics are apparently some awesome new twin turbo TDI V6 that might make it in the 2013 Touraegs, but its a crazy looking variable setup turbo design. I still dream about going turbo on the 325 but I would have to have it 100% perfect though, so still debating on what to do.

                  Updates........

I have been driving the BMW as much as I can lately. I got some sealing primer/sand paper/tape and repaired some very minor surface rust near and behind the left taillight. It turned out very well. I then installed two brand new BMW taillights. The car looks brand new!

After all that, the week after went full-bore to find a shorter diff. Finally came up with one for a deal. Ended up being a 3.?? because thd tag was gone. So I counted and made ref. marks , did some calculations to find it somewhere around like a 3.67? It's LSD for sure due to no open diff function of gears felt. Got it installed with some BMW diff oil with correct additive. Good god what a difference !!! So much acceleration now through 3rd. But very high revs at 70 almost at 3600 rpm! Oh well I love the torque increase!!!!

                    i love the on-track pictures!

your new diff is probably a 3.64, or a 3.73 if your tires are oversized. the former is rather rare, so good find if you did get one!

                              Updates.......

Finally got around to installing a decent stereo and some pioneer/sony speakers front and rear. Its a JVC head unit and honestly it was cheap but it sounds pretty damn good. Still contemplating about what to do for seats/harnesses/cage/etc... no carpet or half or ????????????????? no ideas yet.

Also in the future plans are those towards exhaust. the current setup is crude but sounds great, it needs proper hangers/welds fixed/etc...so I plan on getting my brother's buddy to whip up an exhaust for me sometime soon. His work is amazing and I plan to use stainless everywhere.
