This would make it a 91 year model. My M Technic (albeit a full M technic) is produced 5/30/91 and is a 91 year model. It's incorrect to say all appearance packages were 92 year model. Internet is not always fact...true so let's find the facts. Do you know the month your car was produced?

Julien? not sure what you're talking about but we are only referring to appearance package cars produced in 4/91.

Here's another site showing 4/91 for the appearance package.

Anyway, sorry for the thread jacking. I hate misinformation more than anyone on this site and everything I've seen supports the claims made on E30ic.com

I agree with Barry - this is the E30 model that has caused more confusion than any other & much of it is due to misinformation that's propagated as gospel. The ".se" link that Barry has posted above has a lot of very good info (if you translate it).

Thanks for posting. I knew I had seen several 91 appearance packages out there.

    Here's another in black...

Hopefully Karzrtoyz or Ironman will chime in on the production month.

Very nice AW vert. I suggest you get rid of that big ass steering wheel and put an Mtech II steering wheel.

That would finish it off very nice.

cool article but some misinfo in that too. the white cars did not have brown tops. they also did not all have extended leather on the console or door pulls, they had it on the map pockets in all that i've seen.

    mine's a 7/91 so pretty early.. anyone ever seen a 4/91?
realoem shows the Mtechnic parts were available from 3/91 on. from past history with BMWs and early production oddball models alot of them never reached the public.

    Car looks amazing!

Thanks to the others for posting production numbers. I've been trying to find out the numbers for the mtech appearance cars too.

    I've got a 4/92 build though!

I made mine out of door moulding badges from a 94 e36 mtechnic. The size is similar. What do you think?
I think the re-purposed e36 m-technic door moulding badge looks good. I'm using one as a front grill badge.

As was pointed out above, I think this is a generalized statement that is basically correct, however, there were some 91 Appearance packages, and possibly even some 92 full M-techs.

I may have Kevin work his magic on my seats as well! Were did you score the M-Tech cloth, or did Kevin have it stocked?
    Nice!
i had both the front valence and rear bumper painted. i put a 3/4" tape stripe along the bottom of the valence to protect it from chips and rash.

Kevin had the cloth in stock.
