    Right.
Bmw does not release this data. It's purely speculative and based on one guy's unscientific research.

    No doubt some errors exist.

    From E30ic.com...

In the automatic VIN ranges that I checked, I also found 49 ALPINWEISS2 M-technic appearance and 56 DIAMANTSCHWARZ METALLIC M-Technic appearance. This should "bust" the myth that "Appearance package cars were all 1992" that is heard on the Net.
strange, i had a full mtech 04/91 auto

That page is some guy's myth.
My car was made in 91. They are model year 92 regardless.
Unfortunately the Internet is not always fact.

Well all 92s were appearance. All 91s were the full deal.

I thought about removing the 325i but that's what it is and not a full mtechnic.

I made mine out of door moulding badges from a 94 e36 mtechnic. The size is similar. What do you think?
They never came on the appearance packages, regardless of year. Looks fine. I would have removed the 325i altogether and put the badge on the right side.

Not true. I have all original paperwork and it was owned by one family until I snagged it. The vin shows it's a 5spd. There are about 200 of these in stick.

In fact there are other members on here that own them.

I don't think I could live with anything white on my interior. Ever.

But, that doesn't mean I won't tip the hat to ya. Great looking work.

Appearance package with a manual trani, that has to be pretty rare. Nice resto and good call with the seats.
