        Update 12/06/12

Got a little more done last weekend :D

Got my self a nice ESAB TIG machine, nice piece of kit, watercooled and what not. Only downside is no AC(alu welding).

The header couldent fit for the front arm bushing, so it needs a bit of modifying with my new welder ;) Manifold cut:

        Pics of clearance issues.

        Rear manifold cut.

Cut the bend of also, to be able to twist it some more. TIG'ging it up.

Done properly! With rear-gas.(dunno if this is the correct english term, but the protection gas for the backside of the weld, so the stainless steal doesent burn out the crome)

        Whole thing welded together again.

Because of the turning of the pipe, the lambda hole got in an argument with the oilpan. So it got shortened and closed.

Both headers in place again. Need some 2.25" piping and bends to be able to complete it. So i found out thats impossible to get in Denmark(metric system VS. US parts :hitler:). Good thing they havent seen the light yet in England, and that i have an eBay account

So on with modifying the brake booster. It needed to get lengthened. Hardware from the standard booster, a cut bolt and a whole 2002 booster.

Welded halfway. I became worried that the bar would carry to much heat down to the rubber seals...

        Solution: Water for cooling :p

        Finished booster.

        In its place. Fits perfectly.

Got fittings for my Bosch 044 pump.

        Assembled.

Specialist Components (ECU) made a mistake with the engineharness, so it needs to go back to them. They removed a connector to much, the inletcam sensor. Gonna be hard to run VANOS without it.

        Engine without harness.

        Harness.

        Ready for storage again

If you had fitted your Treehouse Racing eyeball bushings, that would be no problem

Thats what i thought at first too, but then i tried unbolting the stock controlarm bushing, and bolting a treehouse in its stead, and the header woulden fit.

                Update 27/07/12
So its finally time to update my project. A lot have happened So this is a massive picture dump.

Been working on the headers and trying to get them to fit with the Bimmerworld exhaust piece. Only got pictures of it finished, because i forgot my camera when doing it.

Bought a swirlpot with brackets that match my Bosch 044 pump. The black cylinder is a high pressure fuel filter. I connected it with feed from the tank in the lowest of the 3 AN ports, return from engine in the middle one, and return to the tank in the top one.

My awesome girlfriend helping me make a wiring harness to connect the ECU and engine harness with the C101 on the car.

Also got a 320is cluster, where i swapped the 60 liter fuelgauge with the 55 liter gauge, so it will match the tank in my early model car.

Wiring harness going in, and getting taped up.

Making brackets to mount my fan with.

Testfitting my Setrab oilcooler, to see if there is enough room. Theres only just enough, maybe 1 cm of free space.

With reinforcements welded to the sides. I will reinforce further at a later time, when i remember to buy a new blade for my jigsaw, so i can hollow them out a bit, so they dont block the airflow.

                AN-10 fittings fitted to oilcooler.

Black hose and fittings fitted to the oilcooler. Only got one "hole" left in the engine now, before i cant start filling fluids in, and that the waterhole that connects to an expansion tank.

Welding flexipipe and a 45 degree bend to the Bimmerworld piece. Unfortunately i had to modify a lot of the pieces i made in the welding class.

Everything in place. Only need to make a piece that will connect the center muffler to the rear muffler now. Theres light at the end of the tunnel, and im starting to see it.

Damn, that oil cooler is massive... just curious, do you think it may be too large? Will the oil temp rise up to operating temperature?

Ive had the same thought. And i have considered fitting a diverter valve that lets 100% of the oil through the cooler, and then fitting an oil thermostat, to ensure the correct temperature.

But ive got the oiltemp gauge in the IS speedo to monitor the temp with, so lets see if it will be nescesary.

Awesome build! I love that it's going in an early model mtech, too!

Are you sure you want to block off that much of the radiator airflow with your fan brackets? Might be wiser to just use 1cm struts, to get maximum flow. Something like this. Obviously, you don't have to buy a kit, just fab them.

I thought it was clear enough that i intend to saw out a larger part, and that the only reason i havent allready, is because i forgot to get a new blade for my saw.
