save the money. unless she is a car person it will be a waste of money. and if she is a car person she'll build it her self. i've learned this lesson. the wife would have preffered a 6k car and 16k in savings. rather than a 22k car.

I don't think I have the patience for completely restoring the car ground up, I may be ocd but not even in the same league.

We'll most likely find a car with a blown tbelt and do the bare minimum to get it looking good and road worthy, then drive the hell out of it.

Serious question: why did you put Brembos on your wife's dd?

Yup. You order standard rotors and they come in brembo boxes. Brembo bought the supplier

What would you say has been the most expensive part of the build? I'm guessing body work? Or just all the new parts?

How much are you going to insure it for?

This is something i will have to see about. it's not like there is gonna be a lot of other cars to compare the condition to. so i'm hoping we will get an agreed value of 15k with the option to buy back.

I didn't do a whole lot during the Christmas break but here is what i did do.
i put the GC coilovers and Konis on the blue car.

I did start the car for the first time

so far all is well on with the engine.

then today with the help of my dad we worked on modifying the interior so that is can be converted from a non-airbag knee bolster to a late model airbag bolster.

now just need to find the darn bracket that holds the ABS brain. and then i can get to the pedals and put the covers on them.

the hood went on smoothly, one maned that bad boy on. and now the car looks complete with the hood and IS lip.

                                dat is some shinny paint
