Haha, scraping a rubberized undercoating is hardly frame damaged. And if you saw the pic of the accident you'd have no reservations in buying the car, even with a salvaged title.

But dammit...today wasn't so good. I scraped a ton (due to my own stupidity and misjudgment), had to go over a speed bump for the first time (imagine 5 different things scraping one after the other), bent a bit of the muffler clamp, the exhaust now makes a weird noise from somewhere...ugh. And that rattle in the left rear which I'm not sure if I've mentioned yet got worse. Gonna take a look at it all tomorrow...

Geez, you just assume everyone is attacking you, don't you?

My point was merely to emphasize how low vert rockers are.

Haha...guess I'm just used to the hate ;). But yes, they go higher up the door and lower to the ground i believe, which doesn't really help anything (more scraping, higher parts prices..). They should have just had a factory X-brace.

Ahh fuck. Just looked at my pan...scraped but doesn't look cracked. And the engine started to leak a bit of oil, although it doesn't seem like they're related. Fuck today.

Telling myself what? The the scraped pan and oil leak aren't related? I wish they were! Imagine the difference in the level of work involved in replacing a lower oil pan and replacing, say, the profile gasket. I even have a spare oil pan gasket sitting in my garage.

I think your M42 Cabrio looks very good.
Why dont you go up a bit with the height?
I think it would not make your car looks worse.
Who cares if it may looks a bit better that low in some peoples opinion, if you damage your car that way...

Because I can drive it just fine this low. I was just frustrated and pissed off for 1 minute and I fucked up and I've just been mad at myself ever since. I should never have scraped the pan but I was just stupid for like 20 seconds and messed up.

Anyways, here's the damage. The rattle over bumps was my rear shock metal cover thing, which had fallen off and was just sitting there. I shoved it back on and put some JB weld on it (no I don't care what anyone thinks of that. it was extremely shittily kinda squeezed on to begin with, this will likely be better than it was new). The exhaust noise was this:

                  Caused by this:

So I'm soaking it all in PB right now and I'm gonna try to turn those clamps so they don't hang so low. Does anyone know if they're held on in some way? They don't seem to want to move but I can't see anything stopping them.

                  And this is my pan:

It's also leaking tranny fluid, but I think one of the plugs is just loose (started only after i changed the fluid, leaks quite a lot), I'll look into it after typing this. There's also a little oil leak that I'll have to track down. Ill start by checking the tightness on all the pan bolts because it seems to be from down there, although I'm not sure. Looking under the car, there doesn't appear to be any damage at all from being low other than what I've pictured and a couple scratches here and there on non structural things.

What are the clamps there for? exhaust hangers? or hoding the pipes together?

I would just get rid of them all together. Weld that shit. Thats what i did with mine. My exhaust used to hang cause it was on one rubber hanger, but i got fed up and got an exhaust shot to cut me and deal and weld the shit of my setup. Those pipes dont dare to budge anymore.
And what the heck did you hit that took that much metal off the pan? any more of that and you will make a hole in no time.
I don't even own this car anymore, but I'm too lazy to change the picture.

It was a speed bump that I didn't even have to go over. Trust me, I'm not doing that again. The clamps hold the muffler on, and I'd rather not weld it just because the clamps are easier to work with. If they continue to fall off and get loose then maybe I'll weld it eventually.

When I do my rear bushings I'm getting raised subframe ones to correct a bit of camber. I do drive it like I stole it and rarely scrape considering how low it is. Those exhaust bolts are the single thing I scrape about 85% of the time, so if I do something about that it'll be a big improvement.

And I guess I did steal it from my dad. I just gave him a 4 thousand dollar car as an apology

I really, really want Borbet A's. Although I do like the way my black centers go with the polished lip, aluminum caps, and black hardtop (when it's on).

And i'll PM him. I looked on their site and it's $30 bucks for 8 extended bolts
