    Update 6/5/2014

Well I drove it. It took 2 months of bullshit to get here because the engine wouldn't build oil pressure. I eventually fixed it and here we are. It's getting a bit warm but I finally drove it a bit.

Drives fine (only took it to like 25mph). But it's getting warm and I don't think my coolant is flowing. My electric fan isn't kicking on and I have an e36 temp sender meant for an electrical fan. Also to bleed the coolant I always just poured it in the reservoir and revved it so it bubbled and the level went down, then filled more and repeat til there's no more bubbles. Now it doesn't seem like its flowing through the tubes at all and idk if any is even in the engine.

I filled it up with all the hoses connected and just poured it in the tank with the engine off. It seemed like it flowed into the engine and there's no reason for the water pump to be bad (worked when pulled and I didn't touch it). Do I have to prime this damn thing too??

    Here's some pics:

Skid plate clearance (I can just barely get into my driveway at this height so it'll likely stay about this height unless my is lip is a huge hindrance which I doubt):

Drove my car on an actual road for the first time today. No power steering is definitely more than I'm used to, and it's even harder with the e36 rack. I do love the feel though. It's stupidly low (I scraped a few reflectors because of the shape of the road) but i can mostly get in and out of my driveway which is my only real requirement. It's definitely harsh, but not quite as much as I imagined and the stiffness is so nice (I know…).
Also one more thing. With the whole AC system removed, shouldn't pressing the AC snowflake make the aux fan kick on? Because mine doesn't with the car running or off with the key in position 2 (blower motor kicks on like it should tho).

I have no good pics of today but the hood is on, my cooling system is bled, and it runs great. I'll get it smogged tomorrow and then I can drive it. It actually runs much cooler than it used to, no clue why. I have about two-three cups of BMW coolant in the system and maybe a gallon-gallon and a half of distilled water. It doesn't seem like it's even getting hot enough to kick the fan on. The temp went down from a hair over 1/2 to around the first white line when it burped a bubble, all with the fan off and while idling in the garage. And it never got much hotter than that. The electric fan does work though, I held a lighter under the temp sender.

Any noticeable difference in engine position with those mounts? Sit any higher?

Doesnt the aux fan only kick on with pressure in the ac compressor.

It might. It seemed higher but idk. There's nearly an inch between my oil pan and skid plate (which blows for ground clearance).

Is that true? Is there a sensor or wire that I can ground to make it think it's getting pressure?

Anyone have any tips on painting an IS lip? It needs to be SUPER durable because it'll drag over everything. SEM may not cut it, idk if bedliner would adhere better.
