So it all started shooting the breeze going down the list of ultimate BMW's and the 540i 6 speed is hard to forget! next thing you know a decent one was sourced in Nevada and a plane ticket was purchased in its behalf

Mechanically sound with 130k on it a few Schnitzer goodies cross drilled rotors and a clean title. This is how the car looked DAY 1

Made it home without a hickup in two days comfortably. Discovered this one had no traction control
Sent it in to get a diag, came back with a clean bill of health and news that the block was replaced by bmw @ 30k so the engine actually only had 100k ..score
Plans Started to formulate and I convinced my brother it should be painted Imola red and the teardown began

meanwhile parts started coming in. new fogs, tails , clears, emblems, side markers, and a few other bits. also started painting the trim

....

OUT SHE GOES all ready for paint.....Last day she will be hellrot

About a week later I went to pick her up. the paint was decent, there were a few issues and an orange peel effect, so I sent it off to be color sanded
anddd i present to you IMOLARED540i6SPEEED

I instantly started putting her all back together

And slowly but surely the vision came to light

540i 6speeds run in the family

Did the valvecover gaskets .. had them powerdercoated gold and buttoned it all back together for her dayview at the leavenworth cruise

Fast forward four years... lets see what is different
the car was sold to a friend and I basically asked for first right of refusal , so when it came available again i snagged it back .
since the last post its now sitting on bc coils with staggered zed wheels.
full exhaust cat and res delete ..just an x pipe and supersprint muffler

Ever since I've had the car I've been driving it with pretty stripped interior ... No headliner mismatch door panels ..the previous owner painted 94 tan door panels black and made bride fabric inserts ...cut the passenger seatbelt because the bolt was too hard to get out due to seat twist... So browsing Craigslist I found what looked to be my old black 6speed with mint interior in a part out as... I danced around with the owner several times about getting it back . A few months later he posts saying he needs the whole car gone ASAP ... so needless to say ... It came home with me the following weekend ...for a song
