R1R's are pushing it on the motorsport side, n3000's idk about they seem like super cheap tires. I'd have to read some reviews.

Man, the selection is worse than just a few months ago. Looks like you might be able to find some discontinued bfg, kuhmo, or falkens on ebay or on someones shelf but thats a pain in the ass.

Get your toe settings close to zero and rol hrd on some DOT race tires like a grown man.

I mean I could sell the Futura's and pick up some 15x8's and decent tires. But I don't really want to sell the Futura's...

I wouldn't sell the futuras if you can run 225 on them without too much rub.

I almost bought a set from nico because of you. Almost.

Those r1r's have like a 140 or 160 treadwear on them so they aren't totally ridiculous.

Yep... like I was telling you. This car is not very fun to drive as my only car lol. I think going with bigger tires and a bit higher, not much since the tires will be lifting it a bit, is a nice compromise since I don't want to sell the Futura's. The other idea I had was to paint my weaves, find some caps, and run them.

                    Tire diameters.
225/50/15 (like I have) is 24 inches tall
225/45/16 is also 24 inches tall
Both of these sizes look spot on (to me)

                    225/50/16 is 25 inches tall
the 215/50/16 you just posted is in the middle at 24.5 inches

I found one 225/50/16 at tirerack that is unusually short at 24.7 and could be a good option.

Huff's red e30 on compomotives here in atl is on 225/50/16 and i think he makes that size work about as well as possible. It's a lot of tire, though.

There certainly is a hell of a lot more tire options @ 225/50 !

if the DZ102 is anything like the DZ101 you'll be happy with them. I run the DZ101 in 205/55/15 and even with the tall sidewall they're plenty stiff and the grip is superb for an all-season high performance tire. Tire wear is great too. I scrub them when ever i drive the E30 and i see very little wear with 4 1/2 months of flogging.

So the 102 being a UHP tire should be a lot of fun.

^ That 102 has 460 treadwear, how grippy can it be ?

i don't have experience with the 102, but for the price...grippy enough.

Yeah the DZ101's aren't great performance wise, I'd imagine the DZ102's are about the same. Good for a DD tire though.

This is why I'm switching to 17's, tire selection is horrible

Please don't install this size. As said, it's huge.

If you want a proper height tire you could consider 205/50/16. A lot more selection in that size.
