2-3k is a decent budget to get you going in almost any direction. What do you want to do with the car? It's fun to have a quick motor, but if you want it to look good, a refreshed m20, rebuild the OZs, and broadways will def do the job.

Nope the b35 has higher compression. The best setup for boost is a b34 bottom end and a b35 top end. You can only run that setup with boost though or it runs like poop. So I'd buy a b34 from the get go.

And it's not like you gotta find a b35 head when you go boosted cause you can just have bimmerheads send you a b35 head and you can send them your b34 head. Cause when you go boosted you really should rebuild atleast the top end.
