Update: I recently decided to mount the coil packs up on the valve cover. was keen to get them off the battery trey to make room for the engine bay shave/respray that will hopefully come sometime in the future. Anyway, pretty happy with the results :)

I cut some solid 16mm aluminum rod to use as mounting points, drilled and tapped so that I could mount the plate on top. Then sent off to the welder.

Finished product (befor paint) after being welded, also had him tap the oil blow-by port to allow for an AN8 fitting.

    Made up the wiring loom.

    'Finished' product:

    Current:

    Video from recent trackday

Currently the car is running like crap. Tune is terrible and needs more work (previous tuner did a horrible job...) Runs fine at WOT but anything else is runs wayyyyyy too rich, fouling plugs etc on the freeway and in traffic. runs like a dog everywhere apart from the racetrack lol

Will be changing out the Microtech ECU for a more modern Haltech unit and getting another tune. Hopefully can get some better numbers and can get the car to its full potential.

Trumpets finally came in from EFIhardware.com. Look great. I spoke to the builder and ITB manifold has been made and the head has been sent off for machining. Looking like it will be around Mid January befor i get it back.

The workshop is a bit of a drive from where I live so won't really get much of a chance for progress shots.

I know what you mean. To be honest, I was never a huge fan of hot4's. They don't have the best history of featuring current trend modified cars. They were stuck in 'show car' mode for far too long, although it seems the last year or so they have picked up their game :)

The magazine feature that we did a shoot for a few months back came out a few days ago. Since it is an aussie magazine I highly doubt it will see US/UK shelves. I thought i might share it here. Very happy with how it turned out, pics and write up were great :)

A little dissapointed with the engine shot but no big deal since it wasn't exactly finished anyway.

First ever print feature so I am super happy :)

Was also thinking about getting some mesh steal/aluminium of some sort and making some small internal cages, to stop the filters from just collapsing under acceleration. Will keep a bit of space from the top of the trumpets to the top of the filters.

My old honda Bseries ITB setup had internally caged filters and seemed to work well. But the filters were oiled which probably helped for filtration but not amazing performance wise.

These RAMair filters are dry filters. considering the car is a bit of a weekend queen these days, they should do the job. I am also still considering an enclosed air box setup which would probably be better for longer drives etc as well as keeping it 'legal'. Not sure yet though.

I'm thinking about running the same itb set up you have.
Personally I have no idea in regards to specifics on the tuning side of things. I am leaving the tuning and fabrication up to the engine builder/tuner. He says he has fabbed up set of itb's for his own racecar as well as a few sets for clients in the past. He will be using Microtech ECU for tuning purposes.

When I have more details I will let everyone know.
