Haha it feels like its never ending bad things are being found. But once I start to tackle the rust it will be good from there. And thanks, the brackets to mount the fan is from massive brakes, such a great idea and so easy to install.
I have been working over 60hr weeks lately so there has not been much worth updating, untill tonight. Got the m20 pulled, next up ill be cleaning the crap out of the engine bay and shaving unnecessary brackets ect.. sorry for the terrible pictures, its from an iphone and i think i got oil or grease on the lens
Well its been a long time with no updates, but between work life, and i messed up my knee i have not had much time to work on it. But i was able to pick up alot cleaner shell for $200 and i started tearing into it today. There is rust but its on things like doors, trunk and fenders, which i have clean parts from my other car. But the floor pan is clean. I ripped out the carpet and stripped out all the sound deadening. Here are some pictures!
Its an 84 325e with an auto transmission.
Are working outside in the snow? That's some dedication.
The first e30 is on jack stands in my garage until i finish stripping everything i need off of it. So my alley is the only other spot i have. It was the warmest day this week, around 0 degrees celcius, the last few weeks have been -15 to -20. Too cold for me haha.
Nice pickup! Looks like a great chassis to work from.
Thanks! I'm pretty excited how good of shape everything is in. All of the wiring is untouched, unlike my other car which was hacked and spliced all over.
Well it was cold today, about -30 C so i just swapped the bottle caps for my weaves, so i can sell the bottle caps. Final wheels will be e38 style 5s, i was able to pick up a really clean set a couple months back.
Hopefully start swapping rust free panels on the weekend when it warms up.
I started stripping all the good panels off the original e30. I have some wiring to remove then I'm going to start cutting out the metal I'm going to be using.
here are the clean doors
and heres the shell
And this is my daily, i washed it this week and thought it looked nice, works great for camping and hauling around parts for the e30
For this car I'm cutting it up and scrapping it. But I'm also cutting out the rear arches and other parts to get welded into my new car which has less rust overall. Also the front and rear subframe and diff ect.. Will be going from the beige car to the blue one because of less kilometres and better condition. I just need to get rid of this car before I can get the blue one into my garage and start actually working on it, and thanks it should be almost brand new by the time I'm done with it!
