You idiots keep bumping this stupid thread to the top of my Participated Threads list on Tapatalk.
I don't care about your opinions on rusted hoods. I keep getting pseudo-"notifications" that this thread is "updated." This isn't Facebook FFS...Leave a comment:

Rust is better known in the science world by the chemical name iron oxide. This substance is red orange in color, and is caused when irons are exposed to moisture.
correct it is not a crime.

car runs. I said "fuck you" to the circlip I lost and bought the improved filter housing for $15 from picknpull. Napa had the oil filter housing in stock, Victor Reinz brand (it worked fine).
I recommend against using RTV or threebond/whatever on the housing. Sure it seals good but next time you got to do this job you will hate having to scrape it off... lucky me I only had to scrape the block.Leave a comment:

Got the oring, got the circlip off, lost the circlip, removed the alternator and found said circlip next day, tried to install it again, had it 95% then it popped out and is lost AGAIN. Im getting sick and tired of this car.
grrrrrrrr. picknpull only had the updated filter housing with the hex plugs. So I bought it for $10 and am opting to use a new gasket. Car is probably gonna be down till Tuesday. fml.
I am gonna take a hose and try to spray this side of the engine down and see if it flushes out... other than that I give up finding it again.Leave a comment:

Well the oil filter housing gasket no longer leaks - but the one plug near the oil pressure sensor does :( Pretty badly too... looks like I will need to remove the housing again :(
Just like here: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...eak-how-to-fix
I plan on getting some orings and taking care of it. Any input?Leave a comment:
