Have you cut barrel springs successfully? It seems like if they were cut, the perch wouldn't line up

No I do not want to cut the stock barrel springs. I must not have been concise enough when I said that it was the last option. I can definitely see how what I said might have confused someone who has the Gooby meme as his avatar.
If you need me to break it down a little slower for you please send me a PM so I do not have to clog my thread with such trivial matters.
The money I have already spent on my E30 for its rebuild/upgrade for this winter should ensure you that I wouldn't skip out on something as simple as a set of springs. But the Marine within myself has taught me to always have a "holy crap absolutely everything has gone wrong" plan in the back of my mind. That plan is to cut the stock springs to achieve the ride height that I desire. This doesn't necessarily mean that the probability that this happens is even 1%, but it is still there, in the back of my mind.Last edited by MR E30 325is; 10-19-2012, 10:43 PM.My previous build (currently E30-less)

A little bit of work was done this weekend.
Here is a picture of the underside of the trailer after all of the rust has been taken care of.

The rear subframe was modified to remove the differential mounting tab.

The trailing arms were also cleaned up to remove surface rust.

A quick photo of the rear suspension bits getting painted and protected.

Tomorrow morning Jalves is coming over to reinstall the rear suspension and put the trailer back onto its wheels. Then the S52 powered E30 is getting disassembled in preperation for lots and lots of work. More pics soon!My previous build (currently E30-less)

The trailer is back on its wheels, with monster truck 4x4 status, sitting outside of the garage. Work to the trailer will be on a temporary hiatus while I am preoccupied with my E30.
You can all now say that you know what 2.5 E30's look like.

I will be towing it with the S52 E30.
No real specific reason why I am building it. I do want to grill out of it, and have it available to haul simple things just in case.My previous build (currently E30-less)
