First OFFICIAL TWINCHARGED M20 BUILD

Hi,

Some of you may already know or not know that I have successfuly built a Eaton M62 Supercharged M20 engine. The build can be found here: http://bmw325e30turbo.blogspot.ca/

1987 BMW 325E (converted to B25 i motor) 5-speed

• newly painted Black
• M20B25 engine with new gaskets and Metric blues
• Custom built Supercharger kit / intercooled (fan controlled) 12 PSI
• 268HP and 289 TQ at 4850RPM and 1/4 mile of 13.73 at 101MPH
  OLD SETUP***WARCHIP and MILLER MAF driving 30# injectors
• NEW SETUP on its way*** MS DIYPNP with the help of Keith "WHODWHO" with 60# injectors
• 16x7 ESM wheels fronts and 16x9 ESM wheels backs
• 205/50's front tires and 225/50's Back tires
• suspension has all been cleaned and replaced with OEM components
• with added VOGTLAND springs and KYB shocks
• Cross drilles brakes front and rear new stainless lines
• IE exhaust (rep) and headers(rep)
• Electronic Power Steering (renault pump) and custom lines with rebuilt rack
• angel eyes front lights
• Plastic bumper conversion with IS lip front and Reiger back bumper and Side skirts
• Infinity sounds system 6x9's everywhere and Alpine amp and 10" bazooka

To accomplish my goal first I need to install my new MS DIYPNP (in the mail) and install 60# injectors.

Very cool. I toyed with this idea when I came across a free M90, but sadly the 2002's engine bay just isn't big enough.

I have 30# RED BOSCH injectors for sale if anybody is interested 200$ shipped OBO or trade for 60# Injectors.

Just to explain a bit more of how the Twincharge system is going to work.

First I will need to select a HUGE Turbo maybe a HOLSET HX45-55?? something that is very efficient but spools very slow on a M20. Any suggestions?





Air direction:

AIR FILTER--->Throttle body---> SC Inlet----> 10-12 PSI out to Turbo Inlet--->Turbo compresses further the yet again the HOT 12 PSI of Instant boost that spools the HUGE turbo for a goal of 18-20 PSI of compounded Boost---->MASSIVE front mount intercooler--->M20 INTAKE(when throttle plate released air is blow off to the **AIR FILTER-Throttle body**)

GOAL: Will be a HUGE turbo that HITS HARD and Fast like a SMALL turbo with full power and range from 1500RPM all the way to 7000RPM while cooled by the MASSIVE front mount intercooler. Tuned precisely with MS with traction control and BIG Gumballs..

This will test the Limit of the M20 on stock Headgasket and Metric blues when it blows up then I got a 2.7 M20 or M30 block waiting... :)

AS much as the M20 engine can take...I will know soon enough.

It wont be a fast Project I give myself until next spring(car is stored away right now for winter until May 1st) to finish it and test it BUT I will do it right and will video the first start somewhere in february or so... being conservative on time..as their are always complications..

Would this be comparable to the HX45? and a Good candidate...? Opinions

you could probably goto even bigger hotside since lag isnt an issue and you want it to breath as good as possible

makes sense. What turbo would you recommend?

depends what your price range is, holsets are cheap and something like an hx50 would work just fine. but I'm sure you could get some nice bigs ones from turbonectics or something like that.
