I will be cutting out my rear quarters and wheel wells after I weld in a box frame for the foundation for the space frame. Kind of like below

My goal is to make a stiff chassis but also use it for DD (summer, spring, fall, no driving in the rain)... Crazy sounding but its possible. I will be doing a 6 point roll cage but with out caged doors. I also want to have the roll cage very flush against the pillars. Might be a problem for racing rules but that's something I have to read up on.

I will go with 1 3/4 .095 wall DOM round tube for the space frame... Rectangle 2x4 11 gauge tube for the foundation. Rectangle tube will be easier to cut, weld, and measure.

During this build I will probably remodel my garage to maximize space..

I helped to part out that silver grey S2K if you bought the rolling chassis from and individual names Jon from North Shore, Long Island...lives by the railroad (Greenvale). Good Luck. I helped him part out for beer and stuff haha

I like the direction you're going!! The jump to tube chassis will be worth it vs going with s2 stuff I feel.

lol yea I get mixed opinions about them.... I am going have to change them any ways....

the problem is finding flares that are 5 + inches wide.... no one makes any.

    these might work just maybe

Wow, this is Anklebiter all over again. I love it. I wish I had enough confidence in my skills to do something like this.

    Updates...

First update, A local performance shop needed help with sales. So I started working on Saturdays. I use to work at the shop years ago until I finally decided to move on. Now that I'm back at the shop, it brings back lots of memories... I missed the place. I snapped a couple pics of the shop. Enjoy

    Second update...

After sitting and staring... and drinking some tea....

I have decided to go tube chassis and still use some parts from the s2000

S2000 is a roadster and will not allow me great seating. If I plopped the body on top the s2000 chassis I would be sitting 4 inches behind the B pillar

So I decided to visit my favorite place

    And Cut

    Also picked up this bastard...

Thats all, have a great Easter!

Yea that makes sense, I think for me I hope your able to make it all come together and still make it look like 1 car and not two welded together.

So theres my challenge, impress me :)

Eh to each their own. The body was so rusty to begin with almost impossible to keep it stock with out spending some serious coin on factory panels
