SEM is my goto supplier for anything they offer. i used their chip guard on my rockers and redid the rear deck on Alice with the same product as i used on the cabrio interior. it's a bit more expensive than say duplicolor but it's always done what it's supposed to without complication.

Hi Jeff I am a the proud owner of a 91 vert added to the stable as a ' middle child' now ( 87 325is ' ole girl' , 12 135i 'new girl') and a 86 326es parts car.
You have inspired me so much of bring back the middle child. What a great thread I read it start to finish. Your creation is tops! Wow absolutely outstanding

I finally got around to some long over due maintenance after replacing the fuel pump and filter.

Did the TB, hoses and v belts, air filter, plugs, cap, rotor, afm and adjusted the valves. All the valves were spec except for one which I tweaked. New BMW blue and distilled water and today we actually went for a drive without it dying at OT for the first time in several months.

We forget how much we love these cars til we go without them for a while :)

Some interesting points to share....the hoses were spotless inside which is reason enough to use the good stuff (ie blue).

I was very impressed with how clean the inside of the engine was. I installed this head 38k ago and it has had fresh M1 15-50 every 3-4K. I chuckle when I read guys saying how they "like an oil" or it "seems fine". You really have to idea unless you put 100k on it or get it analyzed....or unless it looks like this.





I've also gone on about using...or rather not using...RTV in an engine. I removed these little puppies from the rocker shaft plug valleys and can just imagine the damage they could have done if one got away.

holy shoes thats clean. The only thing I saw come close to being that clean was an 84 carrera 3.2 with 175k on the clock. Proper oiling and quality oil really does go a looooong way.

I didn't think anyone would be interested in my timing belt and major maintenance update. I'm truly at the point where there isn't much I can do to improve or update the car.

Ok I lied. There was something that needed doing and it only took me 5+ years. About right in the life of an e30. Finally got around to dying the carpets.

I replaced a leaky cam seal last year and WYAIT I did the water pump, tstat, timing belt and just had to add some eye candy to the engine bay. The beach pics were taken yesterday after an extensive clean up/detail before he goes on BAT
