some fun photos for anyone still following. Ive been tied up in my new DD lately but rest assured the E30 is still going. As you can see im a poke fan lol. The wide body is coming along good, just test fitting the wheels on the front and rear before I cut the quarters.

Did you reverse the barrels on those wheels to get that offset?

Yes he did, AKA they are still only 8/9in wide, but now have like 5in lips... all show.

Unless he's, you know, only making like 110 hp. That would actually make sense.

Actually that does make sense. In a car making 220ish hp or less at the wheels, too much tire contact patch(tire width) will make the car slower on the track.

Yeah, so basically, OP's horrible at bragging. "Haha guys, with all this work, I'll be making around stock power output! Boo-yah!"

                          i don't understand the hate.

he's doing some interesting things. i like the intake manifold, i'm interested in the flairs, and he's actually right about the tire.

it's like a RWB E30. note; i don't love RWB, but they are interesting to look at.

I understand the point about bigger tires can slow you down. What didn't make sense to me is that he claimed it isn't all for show. I mean, if you're dealing with stock-ish power output, why bother with flares that gaudy? And then to have style five's flipped around to have some ridiculous offset and 5 inch lips when in reality they're only 8's. To me that's all show and not a whole lot of go. It's an interesting looking car, don't get me wrong. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I wouldn't call it hate, it's all in good fun. OP is making some ridiculous claims that don't seem to match what he's building, and makes statements like, "I'm going to be making SO MUCH POWER anything over a 245-section would slow me down" that don't reconcile with any reasonable school of thought regarding vehicle dynamics. Things like that are hard to leave alone.

true, the flare mod doesnt really complement the wheel tire combo unless he ups to 10 or 12 inch with like a 285 or 305. but with that much tire and wheel it doesnt complement the engine so the mods are useless unless they are just for show. im not hating just pointing out what i see. anyways go lsx!
