I use steel more then stainless or aluminum. I'll be migging the piss out of the e30 here in a week or two. -
I do both, and honestly probably use mig for most things, but whenever I get a chance to pull out the tig I do it, I don't care if it takes longer. It's so clean, and such a concentrated arc, the heat distortion is extremely minimal!Leave a comment:

I think you'll be seriously cheating yourself if you spend all the time to set the motor back, move the driver position, and DON'T rethink the suspension.Leave a comment:

There is nothing quite like lifting your hood to see a perfectly laid bead on stainless or aluminum with a tig.......ARTLeave a comment:

Ive added less than 30 lbs of metal and filler probably close to 15lbs. A small sacrafice for a badass show quality bay. In case you forgot this isnt just going to be a racecar. And the warped roof wasnt a plan lol it was a mistake i will be fixing. And im not running the 6 speed but thabks for the heads upLeave a comment:

OK so some people arent going to like but o well. The engine I am going to be doing is going to be a 2jzGTE single with r154 5 speed swap. but im thinking of cutting up the firewall and mounting it behind the front subframe for optimal weight dist. car will run the twins for a little while I save for the single. but in the mean time I can get it running and all mocked up. The power goals are around 600, spooling at under 3500. while keeping weight under 2400. and distribution 50/50
With Getrag Six Speed 746lbs
Good luck getting under 2400lbs!
Also, why gut the doors and warp your roof when you add a bunch of metal and filler to the engine bay? Seems counterproductive.Leave a comment:
