    My POS

She's an 89 325iS, and needs a shit-ton of work. Overall it runs pretty well.

    So far I've replaced"
    • Rebuilt head
    • fuel pump
    • cap/rotor
    • plugs
    • crankshaft sensor
    • timing belt/ tensioner
    • water pump
    • alternator
    • starter
    • battery
    • volvo lip
    • basket weaves/tires
    • cat/muffler

    Still needs:
    • control arms
    • rear wheel bearings
    • lowering springs
    • front break pads/rotors

Not as much a 'POS' as I have come to expect when browsing r3v, haha! Good work, she looks pretty nice so far!

Got new universal cat and muffler last week to replace the rotting original one. Now 2 weeks later I have a nasty exhaust rattle...

Is there a common fail item on these cars that causes an exhaust rattle only under load?

Also, do I need those heat sheilds between the driveshaft and exhaust? I'm thinking of removing them to see if they are the issue...

Correct you are! It actually fits much better upside-down. I can't take credit, its been done before. Also, still messing with my valance. The PO bent the crap out of it and the bumper needs some adjusting...
