    It's S50 time!

It's been a long time coming, but I finally got an S50 to replace my tired M50.

    Build specs:

-OBD1 S50 with 132k miles, pulled from running E36 in favor of an S52.
-G260 trans with ~40k on rebuild, UUC EVO3 and DSSR, all new bushings
-M20 single mass flywheel, starter and clutch.
    -modified E36 harness with E30 C101 plug
-Porsche 944 booster with E32 25mm master cyl
    -E28 535 mounts
    -E21 320 trans mounts and White325is brace
-EBay Supersprint replica headers with E36 M mid section and UUC System U catback
    -E36 M3 3.2 rack and new E30 tie rods

I will be resealing the motor tomorrow afternoon. Doing valve cover gasket, intake and exhaust gaskets, front and rear crank seals, timing cover seal, exhaust studs, oil pan and pickup tube gaskets. Will reseal trans when it's out (just because.)

If everything arrives tomorrow, the plan is to yank the M50 out tomorrow night and have the S50 in and running by Sunday night (I have a 3 day weekend so that will leave me a day to work out the little bugs/have exhaust welded.)

And, yes...there will be lots of pics.

Thanks, I'll need it! Should be a pretty straight forward swap, though.

I have thought about doing an M50->S50 swap. In to see the differences.

Blew my budget already and time constraints (in school full time now, so it doesn't really allow me much free time.)

Me too. I'm sure I'll be happy with it. Might yank the head off later on and refresh the top end and stick a supercharger on eventually

Sounds like it'll be just like my setup... minus the e36 exhaust parts.

Thanks Brendan! Unfortunately, I didn't get to start tonight like I planned. Oh well, there is always next week!

The majority of my stuff arrived today, so that means I can get the motor ready to go for next weekend. Still waiting on headers and a few misc gaskets that I forgot to order the first time around (d'oh!)

However, after many months of waiting for UUC to get the 10 degree twisted DSSR back in stock, mine finally arrived today! I was pretty stoked. I have an EVO3 I've been waiting to install for about a year now and finally will get to do it.

Still undecided on a color for the valve cover. Thinking of having it done in Zinno. Might just be boring and have one done in plain ol' semi-gloss powdercoat. We'll see.

                          Whoohoo, good luck.

                          e21 booster sucks btw.
Notch your intake manifold or slot your booster holes or something.

It's not my first choice, but I'm sick of my Porsche 944 booster and I have an E21 kicking around from my last swap car parts car. Porsche booster is mushy as hell. Maybe I'll do an iX booster later on..
