The manifolds are on for good this time.

Carbs and linkage are on for good as well. So stoked!

I got some used 993 exhaust manifolds to eventually put on my 3.2 engine because they offer good performance and good heat for winter. I will need to custom make the rest of the exhaust system so they will have to wait for a little. The flanges on one header need to be turned 90 degrees to fit on the 3.2 so i wanted to get that done using the engine on the stand as a jig.
Cut through the base of the weld

Flanges removed

Weld removed from inside the flanges

Flanges tack welded on in the correct position ready for final welding.

New engine oil line was needed for the SSI headers i am going to use. Installed and also ready for new exhaust studs.

New studs installed

SSI headers installed, ready for the muffler. These are long tube, equal length units and if they had an 1/8th of an inch bigger primaries they would be perfect.

Nice! We've got your suspension on our shop's track 911sc.Great work, I'd love to start working on the flat six's. I work at Elephant Racing, if you haven't heard of us, we got some good stuff, what do you plan on doing for suspension? Torsion bars or coil overs? I build the parts/coilover and we have some nice stuff, things to check out, Polybronze, Finned Oil Lines, we even have a GT3 front suspension for older 911's.
Shameless plug: Foreign Affairs track car.Leave a comment:

Appreciate all the comments. Should have some more pics soon, my goal is to be driving in a couple weeks from now.

I am certainly familiar with ER. Very nice products and if i wasn't on the other side of the country would have prob bought an ER finned oil line to replace mine.
I have not decided on suspension components yet, the car has fresh bilstein shocks/inserts and bilstein front struts with the rest original at the moment.
I actually have ER 22/29 torsion bars on the shelf and poly bronze bushes are tempting.
I am going to run the car pretty low so i will need to do some work to keep suspension travel and bump steer in check.
I'll send you a PM.Leave a comment:
