    My newest Alpine acquisition

I bought a buddy's wrecked cammed M50 euro converted car a few weeks ago after he slid out on some ice and wrecked it. After many long hours or hard searching, I came across this little alpine beauty last night and picked it up this am.

Car is an 05/1986 build 325es with 166k original miles. Alpinweis over perlbeige vinyl interior. Spent the majority of its life in AZ before making its way to CO for 4 years or so. Car is very, very clean with 95% original paint and zero rust! Has a blown up 2.7 due to timing belt neglect.

I couldn't be happier with it. The plan is to rip the whole drivetrain out from fan to diff from this white car Friday afternoon. I will install the full drivetrain off the M50 car.

The donor car has a rebuilt cammed M50, a full euro conversion and coilovers. I'm pretty stoked to see it all come together! Still need to get a couple goodies together for it (like a passenger side smiley low beam assembly and a good radiator.)

Here's a couple pics for now! There will be lots more to come, I'm sure.

That front bumper and valance might take a little bit of work to reuse... Nice pick up looks like a fun little project

Front bumper/valance/pass side smiley assembly are toast, unfortunately. Valance might be savable (not pretty by any means) but the bumper and headlight assembly are a total loss.

I will have a chrome front euro bumper up soon Austin, not mint, but fairly good nick. I might be interested in a few bits off that white car. Driveline, diff, shifter plate console, trailing arms even off the scrapped one.

Seeing a mangled euro bumper makes me want to cry.

Planning a respray or keeping it A/W?

I was pretty disappointed too. Definitely keeping it alpine.

Started work on this Friday. Came down with something Saturday night so I haven't done much else.

Pulled the drivetrain from the bronzit bomber:

Started getting the engine/trans ready to come out of the ETA when I stopped. No pics of that quite yet. Still need to order an oil pan gasket and rear main seal before I put the M50 in the car. Hope to have it running Saturday.

Finally got to feeling better today, so I did some more work on this.

                  Ripped the motor out:

                  Cleaned the bay:

Going to finish building the harness adapter tonight. Will install the brake booster and throttle cable tomorrow afternoon, as well as install a new rear main seal on the M50 and drop it in! Hope to have it running Saturday sometime.

M50 is in! Installed a Treehouse E21 booster and newer E34 throttle cable this afternoon. Installed M50 shortly after. Going to finish the last of the harness adapter wires and hope to hear it fire up tomorrow!

I got the coilovers installed on the coupe tonight. I'm pretty happy. GE coils with Bilstein sports. Rear adjusters removed and one spring pad put in place (just to give it a little forward rake.)

I still need to swap the S2.93 for the S3.73 and install the new rear brakes. Once I bleed everything, it will be hitting the streets!

Got it movable and put the hood back on. Installed the exhaust too. Raceland headers, stock E30 midsection and Supersprint replica catback. Just slightly louder than stock. I fucking love it, sounds beautiful.

Tomorrow, I diagnose a slight vacuum leak and go rip it around!

Finally drove this thing yesterday. Has a minor vacuum leak that I need to address, but it runs and drives awesome. The Supersprint replica exhaust sounds amazing. Slightly louder than stock, but a beautiful sound over all. This car, on coilovers, rides better than my red car on IE3/Billy sports. It is so much fun to drive :)
