Thanks, it's going to be hit or miss the next couple of weeks. As I get into winter I'll be able to spend more time working on it.sigpic

Small update, I spent some time this weekend finishing the bender!
Works good, heres a little video. Pardon the view, didn't realize I needed to flip the phone.
I also finished up the engine bay area for the most part, need to modify the shock towers a bit but I can do that later. We measured up the car and I will be ordering pipe to do 2 full cages in the e30s and possible a rollbar in a new 135is.
Video and updates to come soon.sigpic

If you aren't set on a GT45 turbo or have one bought yet, would you be interested in a Holset HX50? Similar size and I want to sell it badly lol. Sorry for interupting your thread, looks great such a sick build1990 325i Touring - The Bonsai Bimmer - Patiently Waiting

HAHA, yeah I feel like I need that kind of cash. I'm at the turning point though, start putting things back on the car instead of taking them off.sigpic

Turning Point
Well this last weekend I think I hit the turning point. Instead of tearing things off the car I actually started to put things back into it. I'm really bad at taking pictures.....I was yelled at for that already but manage to snap a few of some of the things I got done.
We ordered pipe last week, I have 2 other cages to build besides mine so it'll be a busy winter with school in the works. Did a lot of research on how I want to install the cage and saw a few good ideas from one of my favorite builds so I took them. E30 B pillars kick back a little once it meets the top of the door line, so to move the base of the main hoop back I cut some of the car out.
This is the uncut passenger side
Now the area I cut on the drivers for a better understanding
Made some templates
welded it all in
I also went with e28 race camber plates from GC. Got the idea from FE4R, long story short, crazy adjustment, shorter profile, and cheaper hahaha. bolt holes line up but there is no adjustment room in the e30 for these bad boys, so I had to make some.
initial cutouts (I had already started welding stuff in then remembered I should take pictures....)
It looks ugly and I was a little freaked out at first. But I didn't have to cut into the support nodes at all and as you can see I cleaned it up a LOT.
Pulled out the tig for these. First bead I had tigged in over 2 years, not bad haha. I spent a little more time cleaning the rest, got a bit excited on this one and ended up fighting it.
All finished. Leveled it all back out, and while not a factory finish, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Only got that one side done, I'll get to the other side next. My sisters getting married this coming weekend so it might be two weeks until I get back to it. BUT......I have a 3 week break in school starting the 7th, big cage plans in store for that time!sigpic
