My Imolarot II E30 bulid Thread

So after 4 years I have decided to start my own bulid thread, think its been long enough. I am a 17 year old kid almost out of high school and have had my e30 for 4 years.

Well lets start of with the back story. lol
My father had bought a 98 s10 we had if for 3 years did some work to it cleaned it up, look good had some nice mods I liked it alot, never drove it though. Well we moved into a community in the city, and thats we're my father frist saw it. It was a bronzit aluminum bumper e30 on bottle caps, and I don't know what happened but I liked it. My father loved it because it remineded him of the old toyota 1.8s he use to build up, even though he won't admit it. The hunt had begun and ended right down the street to a zinno 1988 325IS.

Well it wasn't the best, everything under the car had to be replaced, and let me add that my dad bought the car and did everything to it before it was officaly mine. My father had the whole car apart in a single car garage, and many really night nights to go along with it. He replace everything back to stock other then eibach pro lowering kit, smileys, e30 m3 offset CAB's. It handled well but had way to much body roll and was also way to soft for my taste, it did get me to school and back for a year though so I cant complain, and let me not forget that he had the head completely rebuild by a local shop. after everything he did the car was great couldnt complain. It look good but then it got the plastic bumper swap which IMO made the e30 look even better.

So a year passes by and I realize I want more out of the car, so i was conveinced that a 5 lug swap was what I wanted. So I started collecting and buying parts, I tryed to buy as much as I could new. (sorry for the crappy pics there from my old 3g)

97 e36 m3 - (bilstine strut, spindle, hub, ect... ect...)
    E30 trailing arms - ( renforreced like mz3, z3 3.o hub, bearing, ect, ect...)
Rear rotor - (cross drill and sloted)
    Brake pads - oem

http://i1327.photobucket.com/albums/u668/respected_beggar/anthonysiphone022_zpsb386430f.jpg[/IMG]

In the middle of all these parts I was collecting I scored some 7/10 sports seats, my old ones where shot, and also deleted the cat. (love the way the car sounds now btw) I also did the e36 needle swap (painted the needles red with vht night shades). Rear electric pop out windows ;).

Back to the 5 lug swap :D
Calipers being rebuilt all around - never again will I paint the rotor!
Front rotors (cross drill and sloted)
Brake pads - oem (need to switch to EBC red stuff)
21MM Vert sway bar - powder coated lime green (Haters Flame on)

Guess what wheels I have to put on the E30

Well if you know about e36 m3s you know that they need a 5mm spacer to run these wheels, and with out introduction my

    style 5s

I LOVE THOSE LEATHER CHUCKS!!!! lol sorry just like converse alot

They were finished at 2 AM and 5 hours later my father and I were doing the 5 lug swap. wish i had more pics of the install but I was more busy with the swap then taking pics. Here is it all done though.

That last picture is of her at the paint shop! 3 stage primer, base (imollarot 2), clear (ceramic clear). Can't wait to she her done.

    My love being stripped :-?

Geting sanded, I must say something about those wheels looked good on her though, dont know what it is?

    That rust :hitler:

    got fixed

Well since all the trim is going to be color matched I only thought it was right to have some euro stuff for it. I also bought all the window seals new along with some other things.

well the car is should be going in next monday for primer, still needs a little sand and one more rust spot needs to be fix. I should have it back in 3 weeks. Why so long because everyone will be on spring break in 2 weeks. so yeah, well since my car is getting ready to be resprayed I was able to have my style 5s repainted as well, no not imollarot 2 but NOGARO sliver!!! they will be done before the car is done, and the bolts around the rim will be color matched to my car as well, and maybe just maybe some red/sliver bbs center caps ;)

But hey like waht I said I didnt have my car and need something to do so i started repolishing out my Style 5s. Check it out

    2000 grit sand paper
    mother mags aluminum polilsh
mothers billet aluminum polish ( gave it that extra shine )

All done and sitting in my room just reminding me that theyll be on the car soon enough. :D

I have more pics and things laying around like all the rubbers and the speakers I installed along with the e60 mood lighting and a few various other things. so in othere words I should hopefully post some more pics up tomorrow.

Write up/explanation on how you did the electric rear windows? I've been looking for ways to do this cleanly on my car.

Great intro! nice progress being made. Not too sure how much I like it that you're painting the trim red, but we'll see when it's done.

            In for updates!

Thank you and what I used was the rear window motors from the e46 coupe, then I had someone I know make me the aluminum arms to push the window out. It was set up just like the e46 so it was behind the seat and you couldn't see it unless you were outside of the car looking through the glass at it. I didn't like it i could never get the window to sit right on the window seal causing water to leak in (it wasnt that bad but enough to annoy me). So after about a year i went back to the stock look, which i like more, but it was cool because everyone would flip out when I showed them. :D

Frist off thanks jeff and everyone,

Just a small update, checked in at the boby shop and just a little bit of rust under the battery. I already knew about it so no biggie.

Also when I was at the body shop I saw these beauty's on a MK6 GTI

And like promised here are some pics of the car the day the swap happened.

Some pics of it on the ground the next day!

Yes I know it needs to be lower, im told that by eveyone :( one of the next things im going to do to the car is get e30 H&R race springs along with e36 m3 B8 rear bilstine shockes hopfully that drops it down about another inch or so.

So if you are selling H&R race springs PM me please!

                              New stuff

So I was able to pick up a few things

I was able to score an e30 IX brake booster, it was obviously leaking, no biggie i will try to rebuild it. hopefully it isn't to hard of a task to do.

Treehouse racing lollipops I've been thinking about getting these for a while and well a set came through the job. They were green but very nicked up so I went ahead and stripped them down and re-painted them silver. 3 coats of primer filler and 2 coats rustoleum silver paint, not sure if im going to clear them or not?

Also had a z3 come through the job so like any sane man I pick up the rack off the car :D

and since i told my co-workers that it was a 2.7 lock to lock ratio they had to prove me wrong...
