    Steve's 318is Project Thread

    Picked up this 3/90 Brillantrot/Black 318is 5 speed:

Unknown mileage. Previous owner of it claimed the owner before him swapped a lower mileage motor in. Who knows. It runs great and is a blast to drive.
    Mods it came with:
    Momo wheel (hate it)
    H&R/Koni
    Unknown Strut bar.
    DDM HID's

It came with a set of snows and a set of iX basket weaves with star specs. I like the tires a lot but they are low and I can only probably get 3 months more out of the fronts.

    Work done so far:
Reworked the rear brake lines. They're new all the way back. Bubble flares and bent fairly well. I relocated the distribution block for the rear brakes and replaced every hardline except the left rear. New rubber lines back there too.
Akg 80D diff bushing with a new gasket and RP 75/90 oil. That bushing is great and makes a big difference. It was clunking upon shifting. I had it on a lift and the tranny/engine bushings are new. CSB/Guibo are in stellar shape as well.
I snagged a leather E brake handle from a yard and the backing plate for the drivers headlight.

I wanted to sort the car fairly well before doing mods but i received a bonus check at work and couldnt help myself. I have waiting to go on:
    Euro Grills
    Smoked front markers
    Shadow kidneys
    and these suckers:

I got them for a good price. I ordered all but the tails from Abrahams who had prompt shipping and good service. Ill be ordering the Euro plate filler and the Euro trim through another source because I can get it cheap.
Also awaiting the Condor door handles in the mail.

Future plans for money i shouldnt spend:
Powdercoat the intake and runners, strut bar, valve cover, and throttle body wrinkle black. A local guy has them for me I just need to get them from him

    ECU Chip
    KA Motors CAI
SSK and a ZHP weighted knob
    Smoked Smileys.
    Tint.

I dont know why this was done:

But that needs to be cleaned up.

Ill update this as I go and I promise i will probably forget about this thread.

I hate you. Actually, no, I hate the seller LOL. I know the guy who sold that car; he lives next to one of my good friends. I just drove 15hrs round trip to buy a 318is in Maine, and a few months later this guy sells his, and lives like 5 minutes from me. Oh well, enjoy the car; She's nice!

Oh, and I'll buy that MOMO wheel if you don't want it. Anything's better than the stock airbag wheel.

Thanks! Sorry about your 15 hours trip. This seller sucked to get a hold of. I eventually called him after wasting a day waiting for him to call back and was pretty straight with him. I went down and got it.

            Updates today:

Unsure how I like the fitment of those lenses. They have a odd orange part on the back to keep the amber look. I have clear bulbs but will probably switch to orange and remove that panel.
Euro grills and black kidneys too.

Condor Speed Shop handle which I think pretty rad.

I still can't make up my mind about these door handles.

On one hand they are interesting and unique looking,

On the other hand they are kinda like those new hershey's kisses with the air pockets in the middle. The ones that cost more than regular kisses but have less chocolate in them because of the air bubbles. Which I guess is genius marketing on Hershey's part.

Anyway, the car is looking good! Keep up the good work.
