A friend of mine has one in an E70 that he just recently picked up. It's quite nice, really.

Maybe down the road when I'm feeling a bit jumpy. lol Right now it is a solid daily driver and I'm not trying to destroy that just yet. My E30 used to be my daily driver and I miss driving it quite a bit (currently under the knife).

Same with you have; 2.7i stroker plus turbo. Except 4 doors and keeping it on the street. lol I just ripped out the motor weekend before last. Now that I'm currently broke, I'm waiting on my work bonus to get myself some more goodies for it.

I am thinking about doing that as well, but I am just wondering if it would be easier to do everything all at once so I don't have to dig into it again when I decide to turbo later on down the road. It sounds like you might get to it before I do, so when you do have your stroker running on MS, let me know! I have a MS as well and am curious to see what the gains are using it on NA motor.

                    Forgot to add one thing:

the illustrious VANOS seal issue on M54's. Yes, I got hit with that problem and it made my X5 feel like a turd before 3K. also had a check engine light and when I scanned it, the code for it popped up. (Exhaust cam over retarded). After reading up about it, I went with the Beisan systems Teflon seal kit. I ordered it on a Friday and it showed up on Monday. Definitely fast service, so I recommend getting a kit from them. Even had a DIY write-up that shows every step of the way, so there was no excuse for me to not do the procedure on my own.

I managed to knock it out this past weekend. I can tell you it is very straightforward process. My valve cover gasket had less than 2K on it, so I didn't need to replace that. Probably saved me an extra couple minutes. The old seals on the engine were completely shot. they might as well have been made out of plastic.

The break-in time is 200 miles, but I immediately noticed a difference in standing and rolling acceleration. It has torque again!
