Yet another Black Friday passes us by and I get parts for this un-assembled race car. It'll be done one day........
I ordered some Condor Speed Shop rear subframe bushings, rear trailing arm bushings, and UMHW power steering delete with their 15% off sale! I was waiting for this sale to get these bushings so I can get the car rolling and mobile for cage/tube front&rear. I also got the $159.99 hydro from Fully Torqued Racing. I was going to just build one of these myself but it was only about $30 more than it would have cost me without a badass handle!
Update on the plan for this car... again...

no posts lately but some work has been happening to this thing.
i had high expectations to get a lot of stuff done over winter break but i got a cold/flu/sinus infection from hell and that took two weeks of my break from me. it was perfect timing to buy an xbox one though :)
i made a steering knuckle out of two e46 arms and got some e30tech rack spacers to install my $100 Z3 rack i got from a local salvage yard. this let me find out exactly what the 275/40 is doing at full lock with e46 arms.. once i saw how much room i had between the frame rail and the tire i decided on going back to e36m arms. i also quickly mounted the wilwood pedals to get a feel for them, i can't wait.
the new goal is to run 285/30-18s on 18x10 ~et15. they're the same diameter as a 245/40-17 which will be perfect for my front fitment issues.
i then pressed in some new lemforders into a pair of e36m arms that i had lying around and began playing with fitment. putting on 20mm worth of spacers to imitate where a 285/295 would be sitting on an 18x10. i'm not sure what is going on with my caster. it might be the fiberglass parts or it might be something wonky in my setup, either way, i ordered a set of SLR adjustable LCABs so I can play with it. caster won't be nearly as much of an issue with a 285/30-18 being almost an entire inch shorter than the setup in the pictures.
once satisfied with what i saw fitment wise, i proceeded to re-engineer my skirt and fender mounts. i used some aluminum angle and rivets. the skirt will be held into final position by some sort of adhesive on the top side on the door sill. this process took around 8 hours and went through many revisions. it was exhausting and cold but in the end i am so much happier with my mounting setup.
then today, the first day i haven't wanted to kill myself from sickness, i worked on installing the rear subframe that IronFreak welded up eccentrics and garagistic reinforcements to. it was all going good until i couldn't find one mounting plate and the other had a broken bolt in it that i heated up to try and remove and it was coming out until the last second it sheared off the nut on the mount. i am waiting to receive another pair of those from an awesome forum member that is just charging me for shipping!
the fitment photos are without a rotor and with 30mm worth of spacers, again, 17x9.5et35 with 275/40 on it. the spacers are to imitate the 285/295 fitment profile again. very satisfied with this as well :)
i will be ordering some parts from pesch motorsports soon. for sure trunk, doors, & lexan. possibly a dash and evo2 lip
this is how i left it this evening. as far as parts, i am waiting on those subframe bits as well as the SLR lcabs. then i will install new wheel bearings all around, differential and axles and bolt on the apex with some 255/40-17 national championship take offs that i grabbed from a buddy and it will be mobile and patiently waiting for IronFreak to get his car running so he can install the cage as well as tube the front and rear.
