I decided to make a bit of a project thread to keep up with my latest purchase. I picked up a 1990 325i vert this weekend. I'm planning on basically cleaning it up, doing a TON of maintenance, and doing some of the better modifications I performed on my other e30s. I figure starting a thread will keep me more organized.
I'm currently driving an 86 325es with the "327i" conversion that looks way better than it is. I was installing an exhaust and thought the floor looked a little weird. I pulled up the carpet for find that 75% of the floor, mainly where it meets the firewall, was rusted completely through and covered in bondo. Needless to say it's toast.

I was looking for an early shell (prefer them) and came across this vert on here last week. The title was lost but I've dealt with that a few times with other cars and the seller worked with me to get that squared away.

Issue #1 uhaul effed me on the trailer I reserved. My uncle went to pick it up for me and they only had a dolly. I hate pulling these on dollys, but being that it was basically destined for the junk yard, I wasn't waiting.
I got it home and started going through everything to see what it needed. The front seats are pretty ripped and the rears are faded. The top is a 6 out of 10, but it doesn't leak and its not ripped so I'll use it for now. The body is nice, and after crawling around looking for some sort of rust issue, I was pretty satisfied to find nothing. Everything is super solid.

The lower front valance was laying in the car, the dash was cracked and missing a glove box. It has the stupid air bag wheel and I hate the third brake light. I'll be pulling my clean dash/glove box and mtech 1 wheel from the black car when I part it. My wheels will make their way onto this car and I'm taking the trunk with the IS spoiler and having it matched as well. I found a stack of receipts and some treasures in the trunk.

The car over heats, but I think my massive box of stuff from Pelican will address that. It runs great and the transmission/shift linkage was rebuilt fairly recently according to the receipts. I plan on finding euro bumpers/grilles/smiles within the next month, and having the car pretty solid before the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix in July.

End of day one.;)
