In the past 3 years it has had all new top end of engine with belt and water pump, crank seals, clutch, brake system, struts. Things I know at this point that I need to fix. Can only unlock doors by trunk, only high beams work, the sunroof will only work manually . -
Holy sidewalls!

Won't be doing to much till spring. Things I want to do to it now is upgrade sound system and change the muffler. I'll work on the little things that don't work right to. I'll work more on cleaning it up in the spring. I'll do any body work that needs done and do a repaint. I'll repaint the rims to if I don't find some aftermarket ones to fit it. The one thing I really want to get first is aftermarket headlights. Thinking of the ebay projector halo ones with a HID kit.Comment

I want to replace the Chrome trim that goes in the rubber window gasket. Can someone tell me what it's called so I can look for it ? I would like to replace it with a black one if they make it in that color.Comment

Here's the part # for the chrome one: 51 31 1 884 402
Not sure if you can retrofit the later model black seals to the early model or not. I do know that the part # for the windshield seal that the trim molding fits into is different for early models than it is for late modelsOriginally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Edit: thanks to your info, I found just what I was looking for.

I have to work on the sound system next weekend. It's all jacked up. There is an aftermarket head unit hood to 2 6x9's in boxes sitting in the back window for sound.Comment

Hope to start on it this coming weekend. Haven't been able to work on it do to the weather. I haven't even had the time to take my first drive in it. I also have a real nice alarm system with remote start. I know how to make the remote start work on a Manuel car BUT I want to come up with some kind of safety switch to make sure it only starts in neutral. I have a good idea on how to do it but won't know if my plan will work till I try it. I'm think g of a micro switch on the shifter.Last edited by Dakotademon7; 01-22-2014, 03:28 PM.Comment

Looking to get new badges. Not sure what one I want to go with.
I would like to use these because my last name starts with the letter M but most people would think I'm just trying to pass my car off as a real M3.

Got my new clutch cylinder yesterday. Hope to get a good weekend to install it. That's all that's holding me up from driving it.Comment

It's a warm dry day today. Got my clutch master cylinder replaced today. It was a bit of a pain in the ass but I got it done. This was my first time replacing one on a BMW but now that I know what needs to be done, it will be much easier if I ever need to do it again.Comment

Got her home tonight. Now I can start on the little things here and there that need a little repair. I heard a humming sound from the rear on the way home. I think it may be a wheel bearing going out. Not sure. Could be the tire doing it. I'll put it on the lift at work and check it out.Comment

Got some work done over the weekend. Have my radio installed. It's basically thrown in for right now just to have some music. I'll redo it right when I have more time. The car needs a bit of TLC. I have to get a new drivers seat, glove box, blinker switch, shifter boot. The driver seat is a bit on the floppy side. It feels like the back is not latching on the right side. The switch will only work right on high beams. If kept on low,it will flicker between low and high. My heater blower will only come on if I put the switch to full speed. It will be a bit of a fix up project. I'm all good with it. It's better to have an e30 that needs work then not have an e30 at all.Comment
