      Thanks for the compliment.

I'm not skilled, just willing to get in there and try. I've spent hours fixing mistakes that experienced guys would probably never make. The floor pieces in there now are my third try and still not as neat as I would like but that's all part of learning something new. At least no one will ever see most of my work once the cars back together.

I got a little more accomplished today. It's far from perfect but I wanted to try shaping the replacement piece.

Sorry the pictures aren't great, my camera died and I had to use my phone.

I also picked up this yesterday 177euros, the exchange rate is killing me.

I need to clean up the back side of the battery tray and then I will be able to work on the radiator support. I got some 25mm x 25mm x 1.25mm angle iron, I hope it will be strong enough. The only other option was 25 x 25 x 3 and that was pretty thick.

Haven't had much time to work on the car in the last week. Been working nights but I managed to get a little done this weekend. I got the top part of the rocker welded in, still need to do the plug welds along the bottom of the car.

Started grinding down the welds, this is gonna take forever.

Once I finish up the rocker I will get the rad support ready to bolt in. It's startin to look like a car again.

I'm gonna have to do the same on my rear panel since it was hit when the previous owner had it. :/

Should be no problem for you, judging by the work you've already done. Quality stuff. How do you like the POR-15? I have some of it and their por-patch to do all the seams, engine bay, and bottom of the car. The prep seems pretty daunting but if the stuff works as well as they claim, it will be worth it.

Got some good and bad news last week. I thought I was going to be in Germany until 2016 but my unit is shutting down so I will be leaving this June for America. I'm happy to be going back to the real world but sad about this car and the hours/money I've dumped into it. It won't be old enough to ship back until October and there is no way to finish it before I leave. I guess I will take as many decent parts as I can back with me and donate the rest to the Ramstein salvage yard. If you guys have any ideas for what would be worth taking back, let me know.

                Ty

                  That sux!

Can you crate everything now and get someone to ship it in October? I hate to see any of it go to a scrap yard.

I grew up in K-town and Ramstein. Lived in the village of Koblenz, Cochem, Trier.

                  Welcome back!
