i have 6 cars right now, PCSing in the summer, need to get the fleet gone. I think i am going to daily my new 81 VW Caddy. And since you asked, i am also selling a 98 540i/6, 80 rabbit, 81 rabbit, and a 97 4runner

ok, I couldn't go through with it. I had a few biters and I got nervous. I am going to have to keep it. I got a surprise for you guys. hopefully my phone will cooperate. I have to work on a new daily to take this off the road. I got all the rabbits sold except the caddy. That is my new ride. I sold a ton of car parts and now I am getting a little frivolous with parts purchases.

I got an entire new front end going under the caddy. so I am going to do a little build thread on Vortex regarding this one as well. it will eventually get the same treatment as the E30, but right now I am trying to make it a good daily and ill deal with cool guy shit later. I did however get a set of cheap front coilovers, rear drop plates and I am going to run those Omni wheels that you saw earlier in the thread.



Urekem Paints. Supposed to be top quality paint but its 25% of the price of top of the lien paint. We will see. I am taking the E30 down to bare metal and starting from scratch. I am taking leave from the Army in about a week. so I need to get the Caddy done before that so I can disassemble the E30. I need to pull the engine and strip the bedliner off the bay. I will tidy up a few things in there but not much is needed. I will paint the jams and trunk underside also. I am going to replace the door with the newer doors with all the guts and I am also replacing the trunk lid with a naked one. I will probably paint both trunks and the spoiler incase I like the spoiler one more.



I also got a new sewing machine. I was searching all over the internet looking for a strong industrial machine and I found one local. I got a good price on it and I started sewing when I got home. I am planning on reupholstering the seats in the E30, my 4Runner, and my Caddy. I am going to practice on a set of 240 seats for my buddy. should be pretty straight forward. I wish i knew what I was doing.

Thanks for the encouragement. I started the rear bumper tonight. Got 1 side cut to length. Going to add some filler metal to the arch. I need to do a lot of body work to the area to make it what I want. Lots of taking shit apart and re attaching. I'll get more pics up shortly.

Urekem Black Cherry Pearl Metallic. Available at www.thecoatingstore.com. love the paint and clear. They go on really well and the paint almost covers with one coat with normal reduction. Primer I am not 100% sold on yet.

ok some progress, but not enough. a lot of spending money. so far I ordered exhaust manifold flanges and piping. I still need 1 38mm wastegate. also, wideband from www.wide-band.com, .140 headgasket and arp studs. that's a lot of money. on to the pics.

Shaved my side markers and turn signals. I am placing LED's in the headlight grills. they fit perfectly between the headlights. I am not sure if I am going to like it. well see when I get them one and painted.

I am also going with a custom gauge cluster. I gutted an extra one and am going to run 2 1/16 oil, coolant, fuel, volt, and boost. 2 5/8 speedo and tach, and my Wideband O2 has a digital LCD that will go in there with the turn signal indicators and high beam indicator.

I had to order a larger speedo so I could get an odometer. I had to shift some stuff around. I think I am going to move the gauges around but this is going to be the final layout I think. I was thinking of using a copper plate instead of painted aluminum. Does anyone know someone that can waterjet this template for me? or what program I need to make a blueprint for someone? this is a screen shot of the gauges I ordered.

Thanks man I've got big plans on a small budget. I received more stuff last night and more scheduled for today. I will get the bay metal work done this weekend I hope. I am going to put the engine in again and start mocking up my manifold. I think I am going to make a jig and build it outside the car as Mich as possible once I know where the shock tower is and location of the frame rail. I ordered a new aluminum filler neck to make a coolant tank and rid the OEM on I had to put back on there. This welder I ordered won't be here until end week of August. I need it bad...
