Thanks! the car is well taken car of for what it is. No oil leaks, all trim and lil bits there, some random oem pieces replaced, 323 strut housings and bigger brakes, bilstein HD struts and eibach springs.
The car is all there and complete and good amount of maintenance, but still so much more to do. I really just want the car to feel tight again, not all loose and old and worn out. My biggest per peeves were the brakes, next the suspension and steering, then rebuild the shifter and everything should feel solid. Then time for the weird electrical gremlins, like my hazard switch, the clock randomly not working, my hight beams getting stuck etc
I am on bimmer forums, and i enjoy all the knowledge over there, but its lots of older guys who have a different mindset. Like not really into slam or fitment. And like I said earlier I was just sharing my other project. Who knew sharing pics of my other car would get such a reaction. I like more than one brand of car and Im sure there are many people on here that like more than just e30.Last edited by mk3f.t.w.; 04-18-2014, 08:33 AM.Comment

Nope, but as a guy who owns multiple cars of both brands, I like to see what other dual owners have as well. I can appreciate a nice MK3 with a vr6, especially when all the door moldings are still intact. Nice pick up on the e21 OP, they are fun and when done right are beautiful.
I know that car!!!! I admire it it every time I see it. Understated and clean. Plus the owner doesn't mess around on a skateboard.Last edited by delatlanta1281; 04-19-2014, 07:24 AM.Yours truly,

super pumped on these rear subframe bushings. I believe im the first customer to get the new 2nd gen bushing.
Then I decided to do my steering rack bushings. Those were a big pain to do without a lift and proper tools. And the darn spacers inside kept falling out.
The rear end feels much more planted. And the steering is much more responsive. Before my rack sliding around and the rear subframe shifting.

Im all for the mk3 (owned a few back in the 90s! haha I sound old) but for gawds sake, thats a whole shitload of pics...
Now, the E21 does look good, but please put a bumper on the front. otherwise, carry on, I like seeing progress and new parts replacing all the old worn out rubber and you're certainly doing that.
I think the E21 and in some ways the 190 cosworth suffered because of poor positioning from their parents. The E21 certainly had potential, as does a 190 16v, but the aftermarket never did much to help. Thats why the E30 is Gods Chariot and E21s are parts cars for 2002sSimon

I'm enjoying the start of this build and can't wait to see where it goes. While not as popular as the 2002 or E30 as others have said that gives them a bit more quirk and fun I think. If I had he space for another project car I'd love to pick up an E21 for a fun car to restore, tweak, and do a few things that I like but most other people would probably hate.Comment

My BMW died on me. Lucklily my friend in berkley has big back yard and he is letting me work on my car there. His mom didnt seem to care that another car was being pushed into the back yard haha. He is fellow VW dude so he has a cherry picker and jacks which works out well for me.
mandatory bbq
i really dont like CIS. The car is very simple besides mechanical fuel injection.
found a broken valve spring. contemplating rebuilding the bottom end since the rings are worn and it drinks lots of oil.
If i can find a complete swap locally i might do that too. I found a couple complete m20 straight sixs for $300 for everything minus trans. I would do other swaps but i need it to be quick, simple and cheap. This was not planned financially and I dont want to leave a car in parts at my friends for too long.
