Not sure on exact clearance, but it is a slim margin. I don't think it'll be an issue, remember I have no rear muffler, so no excessive weight out back to cause heavy movement. That and they did a great job welding mounting points and vibration dampers into the system so it should hold firm on start up and hard cornering. All theoretical until Saturday however.ayyyyy I remember meeting with your rad parents with the RV in the deep slums of Long Beach.
If you do weld up the bumper pieces, you may have one of the slickest bumpers on earth. There is only one other guy who I've seen it done to and it is the absolute boobs.

How tight is that rear muffler mounted? 2002 mufflers like to move around a bit, but with so little clearance in the rear, I hope you have a nice tight solution for that muffler.Leave a comment:

Long over due update:
The 2002 has been with CATuned since July for some wiring, exhaust, and a couple other small jobs like some minor body work. Yesterday was their shop's open house so I went to see the show and check out my car. I was hoping I could take the car home this weekend, however an intake leak is causing some occasional misfiring at higher rpms, so it shall remain with the shop for another week or so. Anyway, here are a couple of photos.

The exhaust will exit with dual outlets dead center of the back. The rear apron will be removed similar to the factory exhaust opening in the apron, and that piece will be used to fill the factory cut.

The exhaust includes the Euro headers to 2.5 inch tubing to a glass pack up and over the rear sub frame to dual outlets. There will be no catalytic converter or muffler, and all joints are secured with V bands so I can drop sections easily when I need to work under the car. I did get to hear the car started and it sounds amazing! Loud, but since this is not a DD and won't have a stereo, this was what I was after. I was planning on using a period correct and vintage ANSA muffler from Mr Danco however it is too constricting for the M2. It'll have to go on another 2002 :)

An official shoot with sound clips will be posted soon!Leave a comment:
