    r3v meet mutsie, a procharged fully built ls6 e30

hello. im not one do gloat or brag about anything. I didn't really care to make a build thread, but once a few people seen the car the pushed me to it. this car was built for my liking and that is all. I did not build this car to be the fastest or the cleanest car around and it never will be. also the cage is something I threw together, I was not trying to make legal in any sanction, that being said it is built exactly how I wanted it to be. I have not hired out any of the work and I will not do it.

here is a little back ground on how this came to be. I have been a life long fan boy of BMW's, I have owned 7 e30's, 1 e36, 2 e39's and a e46. Prior to mutsie I had a e46 m3, the car was my life. it was by far my favorite car I have ever owned. One night I was enjoying a spirited drive on back country windy road, I came around a turn and seen a SUV (coming in the opposite direction) start drifting into my lain. so I flashed my lights and then laid on the horn. none of my attempts to get their attention worked, I was forced to scoot as far over to my right as possible, well there was no should and only about 3 inches of grass before a ditch. my tires caught the ditch and it pulled the car, I went through a telephone pole at 74 mph(speedo was stuck there). luckily I walked away with out a scratch, unfortunately my car was totaled. here a few before and after

so now im trying to deiced what I wanted next. I wanted something FI, when I was young I had GSX eclipse and loved the boost but not the car. I also wanted another muscle, I had a 500hp WS6 trans am and loved it. unfortunately after a minor high speed police chase I was fortunate enough to make a deal with the judge to sell the car and the multiple felonies would be reduced to misdemeanors. Most importantly I wanted a e30 for a toy and also a automatic 4 door DD.

I purchased a e39 and loved it. I loved it so much that I bought another one and made one nice one (still needs paint though). I then purchased a e30 from a friend who was starting to do a turbo s52 swap. I was going to finish what he started. that was until I noticed this

after that I decided that I wasn't going to mess with it. I found a built LS6 and t56 for a stupid cheap price. the following day I rented a car and begun the 9 hour drive to savannah, GA to pick it up. in my defense I try and rent a truck, but none were available, so I was forced to do this

that car will never be right again. oh well, that's what rentals are for

Now for the Procharger. Originally there was no plan on going FI with the ls6, but one night I was at O'reileys and seen clean lt1 swapped e36 and I started talking to the owner. after about 30 min on bull shitting he mentioned that he had a procharger he wanted to sell. I made him a half ass offer and surprisingly he took it. so now I have built ls6 with a like new procharger and a tuned PCM.

enough talk here are pics, they are in no particular order. for now im just going to dump photos, ill go back and organize/comment on them

below are pics of the motor being torn down to check and make sure everything was fine. Also pics of all the accessories I had to purchase. you will notice that the driver side header is heavily altered, I did not like how it originally sat in comparison to the steering colomn, so I cut the header apart and pulled them out and then rewelded them back together.

these ARP studs are no joke. The aftermarket intake manifold gasket was hiding three ARP studs. you can see what im talking about in the pic below

once my stupid ass tried to pry the head off I started to see a crack in the head. I immediately wanted to vomit because I was sooo pissed. this is what I found one I removed the gasket

I decided to fix the head since these heads were from a ASA race car and were already ported and polished and they had larger valves installed. here is the head once I finished welding it back together

once the motor was in I started on cage and then rust removal. I wish I would of done rust removal first because I most likely would have scrapped this car and got a roller with less rust. once I started looking I found out that there was so much rust everywhere. I started cutting everything out and then forming and welding in new floor boards, I stiffened the entire frame rails by adding 3x1.5x1/8 C channel

I wanted to try and bring some of the m3 into this car, i was able to salvage the radiator, no shit went through a telephone pole at 70+mph head on and the radiator was still good. i also took the steering wheel, unfortuantly the splines are different. so I took a hole saw and cut out the splines from both and then epoxied the e30 splines into the mtech3 wheel. i tried welding it 3 times, its unweldable.

i cracked it to all hell. so to weld it 100% i cut it all apart and beveled and welded, then back gouged and welded over and over and over. then machined it flat. good as new, honestly you can hardly tell it was ever in 4 pieces.

just incase your wondering, i have been a certified welder for 14 years and have welded since I was 13. im not some shmuck who was learning as i went

This is one of the most batshit insane, no-fucks-given, epic builds I've seen in a good long while. Bravo, sir. Subscribed.
