    project winter car #3 e83

i know some people might now be too interested in this project but in new England its imperative that you have a winter car. one so you dont ruin your nice and or lowered cars two so you can get to work haha. but anywho i sold my ML Mercedes to a buddy of mine so i needed a replacement i really loved my ML so i was trying to find a nice ml500 but that was not going well, i then looked into e46 xi wagons and i loved the idea but i just dont really like e46's and the e53 was out of the question as i have enough fun replacing suspension parts once every Wednesday on my e38, so i began a search for an e83 x3. after quiet a few months i found what seemed like the perfect one for me with beautiful Terracotta interior! went and looked at it and hated it at first as he was asking too much imo. so i told him to let me know if he wants to get rid of it for cheap and drove 2 hours home haha. so a few days later i get a call saying he wants to unload the car as the sunroof is now inop and stuck open i negotiate and set a price and leave in the morning to pick the car up. fortunately for me this gentlemen was not very intelligent and didnt want to take the 15 mins it took me to re sync the roof after replacing the battery so problem solved ;) on to pix

I like it! Looking forward to the progress. I drove a manual one at work one time, very enjoyable.

I feel as though I'd have the same problem with one of those as I would a Forester. To slam it or raise it up with larger tires or do the smart thing and leave it alone.

Nice vehicle, good to see you taking care of the little things.

My cousin has one also, LOVE the giant sunroof. What did you use to polish the headlights? Both of his cars need that done, so I want to help him with that

I went over it with 1500 wet sand to 2000 and then a light cut with my buffer and glaze took maybe 30 mins !

Thanks everyone :) I plan to keep her at stock hight and just get 19's, I changed the air filter and plugs today they were original to the car I purchased some black grills and next week I pan on an oil service and trans service. Really loving the adaptive headlights how they follow the road I just think that's the coolest thing ever haha
