If I understand correctly, I can get the MS3 daughter board and expansion board and upgrade my MS1..... -
MS3x, run wasted spark with 2 V6 GM DIS units, or EDIS if you want (assuming it is pretty much the same thing, but ford)
Should be pretty easy to wire it up too.Leave a comment:

Hmm....If I understand correctly, MS2 will work for the v12. Stock the m70 batch fires 3 injector at a time. I'd have to leave the distributors though, unless I make up some kind of dual 6cyl EDIS system....which it seems people have been doing to run Jag V12s for years....Leave a comment:

my ms2 pnp for the seta was $450+ some small odds and ends my builder wanted to add. I have about $500 into mine.
When you coming back to the midwest foo?Leave a comment:

I think I did a ms 1 v3 so that I had the socket for the daughter card. I guess you're trying to run a v12 so you would need MS3... Since I think the first two won't let you run that many cylinders. I was hooking up a mk2 golf.... so a much different animal.Leave a comment:

MS3 is between $500-650, depending on how far you go. A friend has an MS1 setup for an M30 turbo I can get for cheap.....then I guess I can upgrade it to MS2?
I'm such a newb on MS, lol.Leave a comment:

Is that how much ms is? I remember it being more like $300 for the board from DIY auto tune.
Well, I guess then you need the harness and the O2 sensor.Leave a comment:

Troo troo.
That just blows the "budget" way up now.
I'd like to get it at least running on OE so I have a baseline to go from too.
....and because I'd love love love to have it going before January for snow romping ridiculousness.Leave a comment:

Go MS. After soldering up a board and connecting a motor to it, it's totally worth it. Once you learn it it's easy peasy.Last edited by ST1G; 10-20-2014, 07:25 AM.Leave a comment:

How big are those tires? We only went 2 inches taller than stock on the p38 and hill climbs hurt.Leave a comment:

Hmmm.......I'll have to look into this. I'm really stuck.....do I go Megasquirt, or OE. OE you can get chips for $500 and get a nice bump in power.....but with MS....for $500 I can get this all setup and probably do better than what the chips get.....plus it leaves me open to force air into the engine.
Oh yeah, been following you. Going to check a rod bearing when I reseal the oil pan. If it's good I'll seal 'er up. I'm really adverse to pulling the head unless there is an issue requiring it. Def going to hit up Max for the gaskets. This is really cool..........
I would recommend one thing... since you are changing so many gasket and seals..
take the head off also .. its dead easy,,
i took my M70B50 totally apart and changed everything except pistons and rings,, all bearings etcetc
timing the M70 is also dead easy... the M70 use the same tool as M40,, and can be made by your self

Since you are using the oem manifold gasket again (as i did) i really recommend that you contact Max Lumens... on Bimmerforums,, he makes a thin siliconegaskets that you put between your oem on head and manifold... cheap,, and brilliant solution

if you want any info ,, you are welcome to contact me
i wish you all the best with this project
nothing beats the V12........... look and smoothness
I drove the truck today.....Jesus.....can't wait to get 6 more cylinders in there. Interstate driving is so agonizing.

Still love this truck, lol.Last edited by slammin.e28; 10-20-2014, 04:56 AM.Leave a comment:
