    Classic Daily 2002 SR20 Swap

This is a unique one to say the least. The customer wanted a fast fun 2002 that would put a huge smile on his face every time he drove it. The car came with a rebuilt m10 but he wanted efi and a turbo...A Nissan S15 SR20det was picked to check those boxes.

    So here we go.

Unwrapping with it's new home in the background.

First test fit of the engine and a lot of things are in the way....booster, master cylinder, pedal box, steering box and linkage, etc etc....so things will have to move.

    Switching to wilwood hanging pedals.

I always stayed away from the idea of Nissan swaps in general for any car because the exhaust is the the retarded side. hopefully it wont take to much to get it to fit well.
Looking for late model fogs, E39 Fog lights, cool cheap 17 5x120 wheels.

            Turbo being mounted up top

Starting to fit the engine with trans (up to now the trans was always off)

            Trans mount was pretty simple.

With the steering rack in the control arms had to be remade.

Engine mounts tacked together. Using e28 mounts

            (pan will be replaced)

Lots of room for a radiator and fan

                    Awesome progress so far!

Will that radiator be sufficient for track work or just round town driving?

What fan are you matching to it?

It won't see any track time. Same radiator that people use with s52 swaps.

I'm not sure what fan yet. Maybe the stock engine mounted fan. But if not it will get a big 16" puller fan.

OK cool - only reason I ask is I have the same rad in my 318is and am not sure if it's sufficient for my sr swap.

I've always toyed with the idea of a nissan swap because for us RHD guys the exhaust is on the good side! Typical BMW swaps have the exhaust on the 'retarded side' :)

Neat looking swap, will look forward to seeing how it turns out in the end.

So I stumble upon this thread as I am finishing assembly on my built sr20det for my '91 s13 hatch. So tempting to just drop it in my E30 but I'm fighting it cause id need more$$$$ Then I'd have to do an Ls1 swap in my Nissan. Which requires more$$$$. And I still haven't finished my high compressioned itb'd S2000 build yet either which needs more$$$. These problems gentlemen, occur when you now have an 8 month old that requires wayy more$$$$$$$!!!! But the 8 month old also requires hot cars right? OP it is your job/build to convince me to follow in your footsteps with this swap
