Finally, I found the foam I needed !!!

Now the project can get underway again. Had to do a little project to repair more bodywork on my Mk2 GLI,had to take a few trips back home to say goodbye to my father ,and had to find a new place to live. Now that I am getting settled, I took a drive to Ft Collins to get the seat that I needed for parts from a fellow R3vlimiteder. More to come soon.

Update, Upper Bolsters, Oil change, Strut bar, Skidplate

A few more things getting done , at a very slow pace , but I am going to get moving on the car again now.

Took the car to my work to get it up in the air and take another good look at the underside , change the oil , and test fit the skidplate.

It fits well, but the front lower panel that it goes onto has been bent forwards , Im guessing by someone that drove up over a parking block or sidewalk then backed up and it caught on something so Im gonna have to remove some stuff on the front end to bend it back into shape before I can mount the skidplate permanently.

The thing is pretty beefy, looks real study.

check out the cool BMW rivnuts that I got to mount the skidplate to the subframe.

      They will go here.

Got a Black Strutbar from Garagtastic or whatever they call that place.

Yeah, finally the correct foam and I can finish the interior soon.

      More soon.

          Upper Bolsters Done

Now, to figure out how to install the heater elements into covers with no pockets for them to slide into like the old covers. Hmmmm

Not much progress, been too lazy to clean garage

So here are a few picture from when I drove the car last. I just love driving this thing ! The "parts" seat that I put back together without upper bolsters is suprisingly still quite comfortable too. Hehe Still trying to decide on what color to paint it, and what to do about the dash. I Might fix the dash and flock it.

I need to clear out my garage so I can get the car back inside to work on it. Will do soon. What kind of new foglights should I get clear or yellow?
