      ha thanks this is back from the dead. Some dude out west is trying to buy it. but it would be hard to let go. its just a car but my father helped me a lot before he passed away on this thing. Ill likely hang onto this one

            Thanks buddy He died before the car was finished but theres a lot of his work in this car. even toward the end i would bring him boxes of small shit and he would sit in his shop and restore small parts for the car.

                  quick question on the switch for the battery mounted on the rear shock tower brace.
                  is it setup for cutting the ground on the battery for working on certain electrical projects?
                  where can i purchase something like this.

                    i would imagine based on where he located it, its for working on the car and anti-theft.

                    bmw actually put them in cars when shipping over-seas to conserve the battery (then the dealer would uninstall them before sale). they were installed on the neg side of the battery.

                    S818A BATTERIEHAUPTSCHALTER Battery master switch I know what a battery master switch is (we have them on aircraft) but why is this an option on the M5 , what's the purpose ? How is it controlled ? Why isn't it fitted as standard ?
