ha thanks this is back from the dead. Some dude out west is trying to buy it. but it would be hard to let go. its just a car but my father helped me a lot before he passed away on this thing. Ill likely hang onto this oneComment

Thanks buddy He died before the car was finished but theres a lot of his work in this car. even toward the end i would bring him boxes of small shit and he would sit in his shop and restore small parts for the car.Comment

i would imagine based on where he located it, its for working on the car and anti-theft.
bmw actually put them in cars when shipping over-seas to conserve the battery (then the dealer would uninstall them before sale). they were installed on the neg side of the battery.
