I love it! Panasports are my favorite on 02's. No sunroof, so put a big black ragtop in that thing.

Your ongoing project and Cooper's car were the inspiration for my 02 purchase as the first step to a balls out 2.5L track-rat M2. I cant even begin to imagine what a ~275hp 2.5L S14 in a prepared <1 ton car will feel like.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

Gorgeous project man... maybe one of these days I'll get the balls to do a project that requires that level of body work.

Its nice in the day and age or ultra turbos and big engine swaps that you're taking a 30+ yr old car and putting in a not-so-torquey inline-4. That thing is going to be a go kart with a license plate. You going to put some Fiske rims on this car too? :D

I dont know about the balls. Who wouldnt love to do a complete project such as this. Really its the money. Not many people can justify spending the amount of a new car on a 30+ year old car. I can, but not many others.

true, i would agree if i were doing all the bodywork myself. however i know my limits and a bodyman im not. i am doing all the mechanical work myself and the limited fabrication it requires. but im not breaking any ground here. this swap has been done a bunch of times and im leaning on those who have done it for info to make it go smoothly. and as always, the guys in the bmw community are more than helpful. without the internet id probably be driving a gm product in need of a lot of work.
