also, move up the IC if possible so that it has room for airflow out the back.
Actually come to think of it, not having to mess with an IC would make this much easier. How necessary is an IC on a system that's only putting out like 8psi?Last edited by CorvallisBMW; 12-29-2014, 09:21 PM.

TCD stage 1 turbo kit does not use an intercooler. I believe it is in 7-8 psi range.

My supercharged m20 is about 9psi and it's not intercooled. It's extra kickass in the winter. I do notice it pulling timing in the summer.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

You already got the intercooler. Why not run without it. If you don't like how it runs, figure out a way to install it.

I've seen plenty of domestic turbo builds without intercoolers. especially at no more than 8psi. like mentioned above, hit that with a meth kit and you'd be golden.sigpic

I'd keep the intercooler because you know if 8 psi is good, then 10+ psi will be better. Keep it up!
I remember this car from the Dyno Day at the shop in Portland a few years back. My old ETA put a thundering 90whp down that day
I remember you were upset about the numbers your car put down compared with the other M30 car(s). Im sure that exhaust had something to do with it. Do it right this time!Simon

I just realized your running AC. How come? Would removing it make life much easier?

lol I do. But I was wondering why since most people that run turbos remove them first thing to save weight and make life easier for doing the piping. I worded that all wrong made me sound like a dumbass.
