E30 320i Factory Widebody Jagermeister Race Car

I'm just starting to get some of the history of this car and have a buddy talking to his M-Sport contact to give me some more info, but here's an into.

Car was built as a 320 and raced in Germany in touring car in Jagermeister livery. Was then bought by a large German BMW dealership and raced for years by them in Germany.

Then there's a big gap, and it's in the USA, and has had lots of engines in it, including a GM LS1 and the current M20 Turbo powerplant to name a few.

It has the Motorsport number stamped next to the VIN, so at least it has that going for it, plus the centerlock wheels, which not many privateer racers step up to for club events! It also has a dry sump tank and lines installed, which aren't used with the M20, but likely were on the original 2L.

Very cool car, we are trying to figure out the best configuration to restore it to for fun and to be period correct. However, I do love to wide flares and super wide BBS on there so...

It is getting some of the bodywork straightened out and then we will figure out some of the mechanicals.

With the incorrect, what we think is a CSL air dam, reinstalled:

No, not yet. I need to shoot some of it on the lift to get some real documentation of the chassis, but haven't done it yet. It's snowing (about 5" since this morning) and it is in the body shop building across the driveway from our mechanical building, so no dice today or tomorrow! Flat, wide slicks, and 5" of snow don't go together for pushing a car.

From the title, I thought for sure this was going to be bs.

Clicked anyway, and I'm glad I did.

I cannot wait for more information on this car/restoration. Subscribed.
