Hola R3V...
Having mostly completed my track car, Siobhan, I think it is time to start a build thread for Hanne, my 1987 Burgundrot 325e coupe.
I bought this car is April of 2013 from a local officer in the BMW CCA. I had seen the car at a few meets, and really fallen in love with it. In late 2012, the PO let me know that he was interested in selling it, and we worked out the details...

How Hanne looked when I first saw her.
Kevin, the PO, had done one of the first 24V swaps in an E30 in the area, and had done some other nice mods to the car. In addition to the M50NV/G250 combo, the car came with Euro bumpers, Billstein Sports, Bavauto springs, RS-replica wheels, a Z3 steering rack, Zionsville Motorsports aluminum radiator, Euro smilies with City lights and aftermarket HIDs, etc. It also came with a folder thick with receipts!
Unfortunately, by the time Kevin was ready to sell the car, the clear coat on the car had failed pretty badly in places, so Kevin had placed black vinyl on the hood, roof, trunk, and A & C pillars.

How Hanne looked when I got her.
Originally the car had kinda mungy tan interior. That is the ONLY interior color I have seen on Burgundrot cars...but it is also about my least favorite color interior, partially because it is so darn hard to keep looking good. The first thing I did was replace the seats with a set of Recaro LX-Cs.

Replacing the sheepskin-covered tan vinyl comforts with the new Recaros!
Next up was replacing the stock 4 spoke steering wheel with an Italvolanti Formel given to me by my friend Samir.

LOVE this wheel!
I was able to source black door cards pretty easily, and eventually got a GREAT condition grey carpet from a guy in Omaha. Coupled with a set of grey floor mats, the interior was starting to come along...

Getting there!
Ultimately I couldn't live with the black vinyl on the car anymore, especially since it was starting to become grey vinyl. So I pulled it all up and started sanding down the car in preparation for paint...

Man, sooo much to do!
This year I decided to get serious about fixing her up, and getting her to the level she always deserved to reach. After waffling for a couple of years, I finally pulled the trigger on M-Tech 1 parts. First, I sourced a trunk spoiler from lowrider on R3V...in Bulgaria!

How the spoiler arrived. In really good shape, with just some missing paint in a few areas.

Wet sand, clean, prime. Lather, rinse, repeat...
I was able to source the rear valance and side skirts a little closer to home. Levent at Guten Parts had a set of really good condition pieces needing a good home.

The parts need minor refreshing to get ready for paint, but are in VERY good shape! I haven't done anything with them yet.
The front valance had been alluding me, and I have decided to take a chance on a replica piece from forum member boby. These look WAY better than the DTM Fiberwerkes stuff I have seen pics of. I should have the piece in a couple of weeks, and will report back on it at that point.
The car will get a really rare set of CSI 3-piece wheels. The barrels have never been split, but the lips are in need of attention.

One of the wheels in its component parts. 15x7, et22.
Next, I decided it was time for a suspension refresh. First up was to replace the rear swaybar droplinks, which were shot, with new ones. I wire brushed the swaybar while it was out and painted it then mounted it with the new droplinks

Then I ordered AKG poly subframe bushings and RTABS, as well of a set of Rogue SS brake lines. When my mechanic buddy Bob and I went to install these, we learned that the driveshaft's u-joints were toast. A rebuilt driveshaft was ordered, along with a new CSB and a new guibo. These parts are now on the car.
I wire-brushed the rear subframe and painted that with black enamel paint as well before installing the new bushings.

Getting there. More soon...
