Hanne, my Burgundrot M-Tech 1 build - M-Tech 1 parts are all here!
I had a little time to muck about today, and the weather was gorgeous, so I figured I would do some little projects to move Hanne along.
I never could stand the way my tail light inner covers looked. Like a prosthetic limb from the '60s. Thought I would do something about that.
I think that looks a lot better, personally/
The hood had some minor dents in the front from somebody backing into the PO. Time to work on that! I had never used filler before, but it came out pretty well! Might do one more skim on there, but it is way better than before. I tried to get a pic that would show the damage, but with the flat primer, it didn't show up well. However, with nice glossy paint it would have stuck out like a sore thumb.
Hit the area with some primer when I was done sanding. Actually really pleased for my first attempt! Having said that I may just buy another hood, but I consider this good practice at the very least.
Lastly, I started working on the rear valance. Here she is after the 2nd round of primer/wet sanding/cleaning. Primer is drying on the 3rd coat now. It is in really good shape, but the bottom has some pitting on it. Will anyone ever see that? No. Will I know that I have fixed the car up properly? Damn right I will! The M-Tech 1 parts I got from Guten Parts were painted a really weird dark Forest green. Not a color I think could possibly have shown off the body kit very well, but to each their own!
I hope to get the wheels to a shop to be refinished in about a week and a half. Here is a shot of them on the car...
Right now the centers are just bare metal. I may just clear coat over them, as I think when the lips are polished it would make a great contrast. Not 100% positive on that yet, though...
And here is how the wheels looked on the PO's car. They used to belong to Daniel (AKA M42Technik on R3V). In this pic, they were mounted with 225/50/15s...which is exactly what I will go with. Meaty!
My B-rot is sadly in the body shop getting the rear end fixed. My wife had a pretty good accident in her Volvo XC60. Two days after her accident we dropped her car at the body shop, I dropped her at work, stopped and Starbucks and damn someone backed into my E30. At least the lady stayed so her insurance is paying. My rear euro bump got tweaked a bit, so hopefully it can be saved.
Contemplated having the shop respray the car, but just couldn't swing the finances right now. I'll live vicariously through your car :)

I received the Ireland Engineering Stage III springs a couple of days ago, along with the E90 drophats. They will go on the car Sunday.
Can't wait to replace the BavAuto springs with these. I will post before/after pics Sunday.
And the very day that the seller of the replica M-Tech 1 front valance messaged me with the tracking number from Latvia, my buddy Brandon (AKA ThatOneEuro) told me that he'd found an OEM MT1 front valance in the UK. The Euro is so much lower now than it has been that the part barely cost me any more than the replica part did! So...I kinda had to pull the trigger on that. It looks like it will need a little work to get it ready for paint, but I am thrilled that I will have a full OEM M-Tech 1 kit!
The valance should be here in a couple of weeks...probably right about the time the replica piece comes in :/ I will take detailed pics of both when they arrive.
More soon!

Shweet. I have some hardware that mounts the rear bumper strip (those screws with the square plates on the end)
same deal for the front I think. The clips that mount the trim to the bumper. Mine we rusted through completely so I bought a bunch.
