    E30 M3 Russia

    Hi all!
Here I would like to share my experience in e30 M3 restauration.
The car was originally produced for Japan market and stayed there until 2007, when one of the quys bought it at the auction and brought to Russia. While the car was travelling to Moscow (it took almost a year) the buyer changed his mind and sold to another guy, who was too far from bmw e30 world. What he did first - gave the car to caraudio studio, where the spoiled a lot of interior parts and put a lot of vibro- and noise-isolation (I think in total all the audio stuff weighted c.a. 100 kg). Better he never bought it...
Then he lost his interest in the car and this M3 was left to stay for 6 years inthe car service yard under the sun, rain and snow. This did not make her better...
In 2014 I sold my beloved e30 convertible and started to search for smth. valuable to continue my hobby: porsche 997 and e30 m3 were in the short-list.

Now it is very tricky moment as I will try to post my pictures )

Sorry for too many pictures and little words!!

What was bad - is what I mentioned - this audio stuff, precisely the problem is haw it was set up.

Due to long stay under the sun the paint started to peel. Plus when buying I did not inspected the car for rust, but in should have been there. And later I found it ))

      To be continued.

Those door speakers are huge! Looks like a good car to start with, what kind of plans do you have for it?

The idea of project - is to get back to original. Absolutely all the odd parts will be deleted. Atually they are.
This car is to become a garage queen for rare slow races at weekends in summer period.

The same day I brought it home I started to part it out, as I already knew that I shoud repaint it at least. And I wanted to do it with a clean body. Here are some pics of the process and foundings

As soon as found rust problems with the floor and some spoilt innterior body panels (like rear parcel shelf and kick-panels) it was clear that we speak not anly of repaint - but also some body works were required.
Havig had a look under the car I decided to clean out the body completely and started to search for for smth special. I did not want to clean all with sand or soda as I heard it hurts the metal. I found guys who are doing it with so called "dry ice" (frozed CO2). The advntage of the method is that the ice freezes the dirt / paint or whatever and ruins it. The metal is not heated (like whed you do it with sand or soda).

Here is demo-video of the process

Thanks! Soon will post some pict of the result.
Actually, the drivetrain seems to be in a good shape. The car has only 90 000 km mileage. So I hope not to intefere too much in engine and the rest drivetrain. Good thing done by the previous owner - is a new OEM suspention.

                          Thanks for support!

So I decided to let those professionals to work with my car.
In this state I delivered the car to their "premises".
Lightwieght test-drive was fun - like you have +25% horsepower

Carblast (the name of the station I trusted my car) continued to part out my car. The engine was dismounted.
