Progression has came to screeching halt as i bought a 1991 318 slicktop and no longer had room for this car. It got put in storage and hopefully will be out sometime this year. Supposed to be getting my own shop in the coming months.

Cage is cut out except for a couple pieces that mount it to the front of the chassis will get to those next time. Also got all the old wiring out that was sketchy as hell. Cage is ordered and awaiting arrival. Decided I’m going to put the m42 I have laying around in it to get it all dialed in then after I’m comfortable with the car I’ll put the race built M10 in. While the m42 is in the car I will just be doing normal track days and random events nothing spec per say.

Been working on this thing again finally. I've got all the tubing for the cage, 3.91 lsd, drivetrain and have torn out the front&rear suspension along with the 4spd m10 trans. I also have a list a mile long of parts that blunttech is sending me for the suspension and m42. I will have all the suspension parts expect my coil overs which Im going with Ground Control for. I need to send the dampers the rear dampers out to Bilstein to be rebuilt. I've got ever nut, bolt, and bracket in a bucket to send to get gold zinc plated along with all the suspension torn down to get powder coated. I've opted to go with an m42 swap for now as its easily reversed when I am comfortable enough with the car to put the race built m10 in and not wearing out a very expensive engine. M42 will have similar power/weight of the m10 too so I wont feel much difference. Tomorrow night I am going to go remove the remain parts for the engine bay, then next weekend I will be fitting the main hoop and getting everything for the cage fitted and maybe tacked in place.
You can see I got the main hoop in the car
All the hardware so far for the car. nut much since it was just suspension going to gold plate all engine hardware too

Great build. You'll love it. It's turning into exactly what my old 2002 was like... A stock m42 and short gearing was pretty much dead nuts neck in neck with a mildly built M10 with 45 dcoes in a straight line.
I am sad I didn't see your post sooner about the cage... I still have the cage from my car! Would have been a great addition to your car ;)

I got the step boxes built for the main hoop just need to weld them out. I also go the main hoop where I want it. Just need to pull it further into the step boxes a little more so I can weld it all the way around. Will pull it into place one side at a time and weld in the diagonal bar to keep it in place. Once that's done I gotta patch a couple holes up front. Then I can build the front step boxes and notch the A pillar bars and get those fitted. After all that's done the cage will be smooth sailing.
More updates tomorrow.
